IIRC I read in the NATOPS that up to 60 waypoints are possible to be programmed. I can however only manage to get up to 10, when adding waypoints, while in-mission.

Is this a bug?

Also, it ought to be possible to insert a waypoint into the series already on hand: EHSD -> DATA -> ODU [WYPT:] -> scratchpad: enter waypoint number after which your new waypoint should be, and then the number of the new waypoint: EG: on scratchpad 56<ENT> [* 6] appears on scratchpad. ODU POS:, scratchpad enter longitude<ENT>, ODU POS: enter latitude<ENT>, and now 6 should be a new waypoint. However regardless of what I enter for the 'current' and new waypoint, the new waypoint number is always is simply the next waypoint number in the series, EG if I have 7 waypoints, if I add one, the new waypoint will be WYPT 8.

I'm flying MP and trying to setup a path through the Caucasus mountains to sneak up on a SAM site in bad weather (low clouds = no flying over high ridges, bc once you're in the clouds, there's no safe way to get into the next valley without lots of waypoints, unless some one has a good tip :smilewink:

I don't know. Maybe you can setup a mission and add 10+ waypoints in the ME, but in MP I cannot. It simply won't let me.

1. How do you add a waypoint, if there are already 11+ waypoints defined? (My experience has been, that the system would not add additional waypoints beyond WYPT-10).

2. Can you insert a waypoint between two other waypoints? if 'yes', how? (I can only add a waypoint to the end of the list, regardless of what I input after initially selecting EHSD -> DATA -> and entering the two WYPT numbers in the UFC).

EG: Waypoints: 1 - 5

Add a WYPT between WYPT-3 & 4, whereby WYPT-5 becomes WYPT-6, and WYPT-4 becomes WYPT-5.

1.)

My experience seems contrary to yours, since I could just insert waypoint numbers greater than 10.

And the way I do it is by simply inserting the next following number in the numeration sequence. E.g. 11 after 10, 12 after 11 and so on.

I didn’t try this all the way to 60 however, so I can only assume it works for 60 waypoints.

2.)

I can’t find any reference in the appropriate manuals indicating the option to insert a new waypoint between already existing ones. Like Lindamus noted, very likely there is no such function.

There is only the ability to add waypoints, and edit existing waypoints.

Inserting is not available in the airframe/system.

I have to assume, this restriction refers only to the RAZBAM AV-8B, because it would otherwise be illogical to 'ADD' a waypoint, by entering waypoint#waypoint#+1<ENT> to add a waypoint

I can't completely exclude the possibility that I may have made a mistake, while trying to add a waypoint. I'll have to try adding to more than 10 oniline again.

Whaaa....?! *tisk*tisk*..... ;) :D

I'll have to read through the NATOPS again, but I am assuming that it must be possible, bc of the way you add a waypoint.

If you weren't able to insert a waypoint, there would be no point in entering a waypoint# and the next waypoint#. You could simply enter '0' in the UFC scratchpad with WYPT: selected in OSF to add the next waypoint. It would be clear what you are intending to do, and not require such a misleading, fictional entry.

Ofc I cannot completely eliminate that the programmer/organizer was simply an idiot. I used to be a programmer. I've know guys like this, so...

I understand.

What document are you refering to with your description of inserting a waypoint between existing WPs?

I've only read about this method in ChuckOwls quick reference guide so far, if I'm not mistaken.

The NATOPS does'n seem to mention this.

Yup, the procedure is from Chuck's Guide. I don't know of any other procedure. Do you? Inquiring minds need to know :)
