Belphe Posted March 15, 2019 Posted March 15, 2019 (edited) Dear Heatblur, I said it before and I'll say it again: You have made my childhood dream come true! Your work is outstanding and your bird is a joy to fly. I knew it wasn't to be easy but what I'm experiencing trying to steal her secrets is a totally new level of "difficult". Thank you! :D I know you are both celebrating the launch and working on the hot fixes at the same time but please comment on the below points. They are by no means critical to the gameplay or aimed to criticise the Early Access Tomcat. I'll be thrilled even if you put them at the end of your "to do" list - as long as they get there ;) 1. I would really like to see the tires morphing when weight is put on the aircraft - just like in the Hornet. Extra bombs and missiles would definitely flatten those pretty tires a bit. 2. If possible please disable the ability for the Pilot/RIO heads to get through the windshield. Looking behind made my Pilot's head go outside of the plane. 3. Are you planning to animate the main wheels' spinning speed to reflect the actual distance travelled? Turning to either side makes the inboard wheel spin unrealistically (too fast). 4. Will the main wing airbags get animations as well? As far as I know they fill in the gaps in the fuselage when the wings are swept forward (20 degrees) and deflate as the wings get swept back. 5. This one is most likely already on your list but could you make the Tomcat stop swinging on the carrier deck like the Hornet used to? 6. I know that the DCS Tomcat has been modelled with VR in mind (and I confirm that the FOV there is spot on!) but could we have the pilot's view moved slightly closer to the front? I think that pressing Enter on the Numpad reveals where the eye position should be but it is not the default view. 7. I couldn't help but notice that as the real F-14B is launched from the carrier its elevators are in a full "pitch up" position. Unfortunately, trimming as suggested in the tutorial (+2 degrees) and gradually pulling the stick towards me as I speed up during catapult launch makes me pitch up way too much and stall in the end. Am I missing something here (obviously apart from the trim settings of that real-life pilot)? I know that the above points are either cosmetic or irrelevant and that there are far more critical issues to be looked after but as I've known you for about 5 years now I am certain those will be addressed. My issues are on the edge of importance ;) and this is why I would like you to look at them only at your leisure.. ;) Thank you for your time and amazing work on the F-14! Blinde Posted March 15, 2019 Posted March 15, 2019 I love absolutely all the details but those afterburner shock diamonds look absolutely horrible. Just simple orange stream always instead of blueish color with circles are missing completely.
