Rudel_chw Posted March 16, 2019 Posted March 16, 2019 (edited) Hello, I'm programming my Hotas Cougar and found that "Weapon Selector Gun" doesn't work when binded to keyboard: All the remaining keybinds of the Weapon Selector work fine, only "Gun" doesn't. I was trying to set a toggle, so that a single button would go through all the WS positions on each press. With this bug, I was instead forced to use two buttons, one for "Selector Up" and another for "Selector Down". Not an important Bug, but hopefully can be fixed :) Best regards, Eduardo . Rudel_chw Posted March 22, 2019 Author Posted March 22, 2019 Hello, Just wanted to report that this problem is still present, after applying the Hotfix Patch 22-03-2019. Also, thanks for adding keybinds for adjusting the Tape Player's volume ... but each time I press one of the Volume keys, the player emits the "Stop" sound .. the volume is adjusted, but the repeated stop sounds are a bit annoying :) Best regards . Rudel_chw Posted April 1, 2019 Author Posted April 1, 2019 Hello, Just wanted to report that this problem is still present, after applying the Update of 01-Apr-2019. However, I did saw a lot of new keybindings, thanks for those :) Eduardo . IronMike Posted April 14, 2019 Posted April 14, 2019 I marked this as no bug. We tried to reproduce this on several different sticks and it always works as intended. this could simply be a cougar issue, or even a button issue with the cougar. sorry that we cannot help any further with this. however, my personal recommendation: use weapon selector up and down only. it works super fast and becomes very intuitive after a while and it saves you a button. this is how I do it personally (it is also more realistic). I know this is possibly of little condolence, but at least workable. best, IM Heatblur Simulations Please feel free to contact me anytime, either via PM here, on the forums, or via email through the contact form on our homepage. http://www.heatblur.com/ https://www.facebook.com/heatblur/

Hello, Thanks a lot for answering this. It was a keyboard binding the one that didn't work, so it can't be reproduced with a joystick. this could simply be a cougar issue, or even a button issue with the cougar. I tested it with the cougar unplugged, just using the keyboard and the Gun keybind (LALT + 1)didn't work (the normal "1", not the NumPad 1). I checked that there was no other DCS command trying to use the same LALT+1 sorry that we cannot help any further with this. No problem, as while re-cheking prior to posting this I realized that if I used a different key for this same command (I used LCTL + LSHF + 1) then it does work as intended .. If I return to LALT + 1 then it does not work .. strange, but no longer a problem since I now can just use a different key combination and get it to work :) Now that I came to think of it, it's probably a conflict with a resident software, like Oculus, MSI Afterburner, nVidia Experience or similar, and not a bug of DCS or the F-14 however, my personal recommendation: use weapon selector up and down only. it works super fast and becomes very intuitive after a while and it saves you a button. Yes, I've been using it like that all this time, but it doesnt save a button, as it needs one for UP and another for DOWN. Now that I found this workaround I can use just a single button to toggle among all the positions, the programming on the Cougar goes like this: BTN S2 /I Weapon_Selector_press (when pressing S2 together with a Modifier) /O /T Weapon_Selector_Gun /T Weapon_Selector_Sidewinder_Missiles /T Weapon_Selector_Sparrow_or_Phoenix_Missiles /T Weapon_Selector_Sidewinder_Missiles /T Weapon_Selector_Gun /T Weapon_Selector_Off The "T" is for toggle, and I repeat some of the commands in order to get a smooth toogle, moving the WS up and then down along all its detents. Anyway, I'm really happy now and thanks a lot for taking a look into this report :) Best regards, Eduardo .
