TheHighwayman Posted March 17, 2019 Posted March 17, 2019 INS alignment is taking quite a long time when I use autostart. If I take off before it is complete, somewhere around 66, it aligns to 100, then cycles back through again... What exactly is going on? Is this a bug perhaps? How can I minimize this process while still using autostart? Thanks!

IronMike Posted March 19, 2019 Posted March 19, 2019 The best option, if using Jester, is to select a desired INS alignment quality. Why it cycles for you, is because it is kept in aligning instead of being switched to INS, IMU/AM or AHRS/AM. Hence it will keep aligning if on the ground, or paused if the parking break is cycled. Go now tells Jester to put it onto INS. But it is better to select an option, caorse, weapons ready or full fine align. on top of that, if you want to have it fine but quick, allow for the stored heading alignment function in the mission editor. Jester will then automatically select that and you will be full fine aligned in approx. 2 min. We will look into why the time would keep progressing once you are airborne though, as releasing the parking break should pause the alignment, or reset it if released before coarse align was achieved. If kept aligning on ground it would continue to align indefinetely with some marginal improvement, the longer you let it align. I always have my jet set to do a stored-alignment in the flight planner/ME, but when I tell Jester to Go INS Fine, I'll still see the alignment options for a good 5 minutes, so I tell him again, and wait another 3 minutes or so before he finally finishes. Almost as if either the stored heading option in the ME isn't working, or Jester isn't aligning the first time I tell him to.
