Zoren Posted March 28, 2019 Posted March 28, 2019 I just put a new computer together for a friend of one of my kids. He told me I could play around with it for a couple of months which is perfect as it is an AMD 1950x chip and would like to see the performance of DCS on it with his 1080. My set-up is an older i5 with a 1050Ti. Frame rates are not bad but really want to see what his can do, especially with the Hornet. Is there an issue with install DCS modules I purchased on his machine to test out? Do I have a limited number of installs to worry about. I would never leave any of the modules on the system when I give it back to him, in fact I'll be re-formatting the drive and install Windows under his name. Currently it is under mine for now.
Rudel_chw Posted March 28, 2019 Posted March 28, 2019 Is there an issue with install DCS modules I purchased on his machine to test out? To prevent issues, its best if you limit your tests to using just keyless modules, like the F-18, the Harrier, the Mirage and the F-14 ... these modules can work with just your login credentials. Do I have a limited number of installs to worry about. Yes, the older modules use a serial number protection and you have 10 installs and 10 deinstalls for each. These include the A-10C, FC3 and all the helos. On the Doc folder there is a pdf:activation guide, read it for more info. Do not make the mistake of trying the newer video card on your PC, as these older modules will believe that they have been pirated and cease to function until you reactivate them again (losing one of your activations). Zoren Posted March 28, 2019 Author Posted March 28, 2019 Thanks for the information. The Hornet is the only one I really wanted to try anyway.
