nwagtmustang Posted March 30, 2019 Posted March 30, 2019 am having a problem viewing external views on saved tracks. I am talking about single player missions. I did a f18 takeoff mission and landed. Saved the track. Went to watch it. It plays fine but only from inside the cockpit or the views I used during the actual mission. can not get external views to work. I then went into mission editor. opened up saved tracks and enabled external views and saved it. Went to play it and same problem. I then created a simple mission using mission editor. Made sure external views enabled. Did the mission, saved the track and went to replay and still no external views. Am I missing something? I know in the past I was able to watch external views with saved tracks. can someone please walk me through this that is easy to understand and simple?

First, you have Player External Views turned off in your settings. Make sure the first item is ticked: Second, even though they were turned off in your track, you can edit the track to allow external views. TRK files are ZIP files. You are looking for two files named "Options" with no suffix. The first is in the main directory. The second is in a folder named "track_data". Open each with NotePad++ and change ["externalViews"] = false, to ["externalViews"] = true,. Save. When you replay the track, external views will be available. Again, the "externalViews" entry in both copies of Options needs to read "true". There appears to be a bug in DCS that prevents players from watching saved tracks in external views regardless of whether external views have been enabled in the game settings.
