No, I'm not TACP. Just a huge fan of their work.

  1. Hey man, I watched your tracks and I think I understand now. Thank you for your help. I marked your first post as the solution.
  2. I appreciate the help everyone. I'll give this a shot when I get home tonight. Perhaps I didn't read closely enough, but I don't recall the manual explaining that the attributes page was only for waypoints made in the future. Good to know. I'm happy to hear that its working for you. That would mean that the bug from 2012 has been fixed.
  3. Is there a way to find the desired course for a waypoint in the CDU? To be clear I am not looking for how to find the direct heading to a waypoint/steerpoint (I am an intermediate DCS user, not a noob). I am looking for the "course", which is the invisible line between two points that the aircraft must maintain in order to adhere to the flight plan. I am asking this question so that I can input the correct course into the HSI when adherence to the flight plan is critical. However, there currently seems to be no way to find the desired course between 2 waypoints without cheating and using the F10 map. For example, in the A-10C "Navigation" Training mission late in the mission the instructor tells you that the desired course between waypoints 3 and 4 is 270 degrees and he instructs you to input that number into the HSI. I realized that in order to properly navigate in the future that I need to be able to find that course number myself. However, I searched every page in the CDU and the number "270" doesn't appear anywhere. After searching the forums and the manual, I realized that you're supposed to be see the course number with the following steps: 1. Set "From" waypoint" 2. Set Steer point 3. Go to the "attributes" page 4. Switch to STEER mode to "TO-TO" 5. A line will then pop-up with your desired course, for example: "HSI set at 270". However, the number that it gives is wrong every time. For example, in that navigation training mission, when I know for a fact that the course is supposed to be 270, it tells me to set it to 353. If so then I'll just accept that the HSI is useless in the A-10. So, is this feature still bugged since 2012? Is this considered a non-issue because no one uses the HSI (because everyone just references the course lines on the TADS instead?) _________________________________________ I've search the DCS forums and the manual for answers before posting. The only post I could find addressing this problem was from 2012, however most people misunderstood the OP's question, and the rest said that there was a bug preventing this feature from working:
  4. Thank you very much for sharing. I can't believe that this simple but critical bug has gone unfixed for 2 years, but luckily there are smart people in the DCS community. BTW, for newcomers, the solution is buried in the video at 11:28
  5. Hey OP, I changed my answer to your question. I chimed in before having the whole story. If you disagree, then deselect me as the "answer". Sorry for jerking you around.
  6. Thank you for sharing these converted campaigns! It took a long time for the A-10C campaign designers to convert theirs to A-10C II. I figured it would be the same for BS3.
  7. Yes, I'm tracking your OP because I also upgraded my BS2 to BS3. What I'm saying is that if you didn't own BS2 before they released BS3, you're screwed out of all the campaigns that have been made in the past 10 years by the Black Shark community.
  8. Because BS2 is completely unavailable for those who only own BS3, there is almost no content for them to enjoy. Sometimes you can convert BS2 single missions to fly as a BS3, however for campaigns this is impossible. Right now I have very little content to play multiplayer with those who didn't own the Ka-50 before BS3 dropped. My example: I JUST convinced my little brother to start flying the Ka-50 with me. Unfortunately, he only decided to get it 2 days after the BS3 module was released and ED dropped the bomb on BS2 store page. Now the only missions we have to play together are the 5 that come with BS3. 10 years of campaigns just became useless overnight! I'm seriously considering buying a key from someone online to activate BS2 for my little brother. This is just unbelievable. A-10C II came with A-10C I for this very reason. What has changed?
  9. I expected the same thing and am pretty upset to find otherwise. I feel very fortunate that I owned BS2 before ED decided to stop selling it. BS2 has over a decade of missions and campaigns supporting it that are now totally unavailable to people who didn't happen to buy BS2 sooner! For example, I just convinced my little brother to start flying the Ka-50 with me. Unfortunately, he only decided to get it 2 days after the BS3 module was released and ED dropped the bomb on BS2. Now the only missions we have to play together are the 5 that come with BS3. 10 years of campaigns just became useless overnight! I'm seriously considering buying a key from someone online to activate BS2 for my little brother. This is just unbelievable. This is exactly why ED included the A-10C with purchases of A-10C II.
  10. 23 DEC 2022 EDIT: Due to corrections brought up by others, my answer is now "No", unless you want to play old BS2 campaigns and missions without converting them. My reasoning for flying the older Ka-50 still stands (see older post in the spoiler below), but you can now fly a polished "BS2" Ka-50 by selecting "Version 2011" in the mission editor. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Original Post: Are you saying that you can still fly as an older Ka-50 if you only own BS3? If so please share how.
  11. I just fired up DCS for the first time after leaving for my deployment last year. It seems that this NVG fix no longer works. Do you know if there was an update that broke this workaround? EDIT: Disregard, this fix is still working!
  12. @BIGNEWY Adding LGBs and NVGs would be a huge step in making the A-10A more realistic. It would also make it easier to convince my friends to buy the FC3 DLC @OP thank you for finally addressing this issue
  13. Spearzone, thank you SO much for updating the method to enable NVGs for FC3 aircraft. I'm currently working on making Desert Storm style missions for the A-10A. NVGs were incredibly important for Hawg pilots during Desert Storm, and many many A-10A sorties were flown at night. This fix makes recreating these missions possible!
  14. Sorry for the necro, but I'd love more FC3 missions and campaigns, especially for the A-10A.
  15. Thanks for the tip. That worked for me too. There appears to be a bug in DCS that prevents players from watching saved tracks in external views regardless of whether external views have been enabled in the game settings.
