flyco Posted March 31, 2019 Posted March 31, 2019 I have a problem with my Warthog Thrustmaster Joystick. It began very shortly after I had replaced the main spring. All of the buttons operate OK, but the axis are very unstable. Any movement causes wild fluctuations in the axes outputs. The three possible sources as I see it are: a fault in the main board; an intermittent connection (possibly a damaged wire); or a displaced axes sensor. Before I either order a new board, or strip the stick down further to check on the wiring and axes sensor/magnet etc, I would welcome input from those more familiar with the device than I am. Can anyone throw any light on the most likely problem, or problems?
Sokol1_br Posted March 31, 2019 Posted March 31, 2019 Just in case look if the "articulation sphere" of gimbal or magnet support - that run inside "articulation sphere", is not cracked or broken, an torsion movement during installation of new stronger spring can cause this, since this parts are plastic.
flyco Posted March 31, 2019 Author Posted March 31, 2019 Thanks Sokol1, we are thinking along the same lines. Tthe only cause that I could think of for these symptoms is a faulty Hall sensor and magnet interaction. I just thought I would see if anyone had any other ideas before I dismantled the thing again.

You see the fluctuation in Joystick/Control panel? hsb HW Spec in Spoiler --- i7-10700K Direct-To-Die/OC'ed to 5.1GHz, MSI Z490 MB, 32GB DDR4 3200MHz, EVGA 2080 Ti FTW3, NVMe+SSD, Win 10 x64 Pro, MFG, Warthog, TM MFDs, Komodo Huey set, Rverbe G1
flyco Posted April 1, 2019 Author Posted April 1, 2019 In and out of DCS. Very erratic and exagerated movements in both Windows control panel, in DCS Controls and while flying.
