You have to change the texture file name to whatever file it is you want to replace first. then add the new texture file to the Bazar Temp Texture file.

So say I wanted to replace the original first Mig-29 texture I would simply rename the 2 texture files that I need to do that to:

Mig-29-def-2-r

Mig-29=def-2-l

Pop them into the Bazar Temp Texture file and next time you load that aircraft it will give you the options to change the textures and the first texture available will be the new one you have just loaded into the Bazar file.

If you then remove those 2 files from the Bazar the sim will simply default back to the original texture files.

Have a look at Modman as well - that is another way to manage all that sort of stuff. Use the right version, if you are running Flaming Cliffs be sure the Version you use is able to run Flaming Cliffs. Available from the same places as LOPE.

Sorry - Mig-29-def-2-r and Mig-29-def-2-l are the second skins for the Mig 29, to change Skin 1 it would be Mig-29-def-1-r and Mig-29-def-1-l.

Not thinking when I typed it up.

Ok but what if it is a 2048x2048 size texture do i need to shrink it down ? and what dds settings do I use ?

Not a problem, it will still work, the higher texture sizes simply produce a much better quality skin. But make sure the file name you are replacing it with is the same as what is in the game. For example when you download a BMP file from CDDS it shows the file size, say 512 x 512

So the Mig skin would then read Mig-29-def-2-r 512 x 512 - you have to get rid of the 512 x 512 bit before you put it in the Bazar Temp Texture file. Replace like with like - exactly - or it will not load up.
