I got crashes really bad after latest update. Usually happens after starting up aircrafts in Multiplayer. in Single player it lasts longer.

After reading log I changed Dxbackend.dll file with the one provided in sticky post above (device removed bug smt). I tried removing fxo and metashader folders also. Crash still happens.

I followed your same path with the 'stable' version, and the same issue occurred (not with the Open beta, though, but without positive results anyway).

At the end, I had to conclude that I had to revert to the original version of that library for both versions.

And I'm still awaiting for the definitive solution of this huge and annoying bug happened since the Tomcat has been released - a coincidence? Or not?

Who might ever know.

What should I wish? Good luck. Bah.

It seems only few people has problem like this, I don't see any complain out there in hoggit or FB.

I'm going back to previous version to see if this thing is really a patch bug.

After reversing back to the previous patch, I have no crash at all.

Edit: crash happened, but took longer time.

You may need to set your Windows pagefile to a fixed custom size, see this post for details

Thanks for the hint, Mustang.

On my little own, unfortunately it didn't solve the issue.

BTW, I've tried any kind of hint or trick as suggested here and elsewhere in this whole Forum, and I tried different video card settings (I'm using a GeForce 2080Ti) without any good. DCS 'stable' version runs a little better than Open beta, but that's all. And still and always having no logs at hand to post or send.

I only hope that this will be fixed one day, the sooner is the better of course.

With best regards.

May I ask, why don't you have any logs?

There's a Logs folder in your DCS Saved Games directory, you can find the latest and next to latest log there at all times.

Try to look in them, they might give a clue.

I understand you very well, mate.

On my own side, given that this still weird issue continues with the stable version too, I'm going to investigate via proper endurance stress tests if the RAM frequency (I have 32 GB@4000 now) is suitable and matching with my CPU (Intel I-9900) effective performance.

My suspicion is that the first may be too high and should be reduced consequently.

But this will be my last effort about, if unsuccessful I'll quit.

Unless a more reliable and bug-free version of DCS is released at last, of course.

With best regards.

I had a stable flight last night (first in weeks) after setting my RAM frequency back to “auto”. I’m hoping this is my fix but further testing will tell. That may be something to check and see if it works.

Thanks for sharing your own experience, mate.

I will follow carefully your news also, as seems you could have found out something significant.

Until now I have crashing with many modules like A-10c, Su-25, AJS37, Su-33, J11, Ka-50 ...

Im trying removing the F-14 to see if anything better. I did 01 short sorty with Su-27 and have no crash. I'll try again later after going home.

Well, you can obviously try also that and see if it works... but from what I'm seeing on my side, mods (of any kind) have nothing to do with 'it'.

Good luck, mate.

Since I read somewhere that uninstall and reinstall F-14 could solve crashing problem, I did. Just done a multiplayers sorty with Su-25 and have no crash. I'll try again with VR.

Mod could causes unbalancing to the game, like the A-4 mod when I was released, it causes crashing with Persian Gulf map.

Maybe you should try.

Edit: crash again in VR after 30 minutes.

Actually, mate, I already have made a bunch of tries and test of any kind.

On my hand, the issue remained still and stubborn, here's why I believe that - in my case, of course - it's no matter of mods, maps and any other else thing.

What I have referred before is my last attempt to put some order in all that stuff and fix it, also because this issue concerns also another flight sim I used to play.

We will see.

Good luck again, try after try you will succeed... one day or another, you know.

With best regards.

Hope this bug is fixed very soon - I'm on Open Beta, I've tried many things; removed all mods, cleaned and repaired several times, looked at the logs. There are numerous errors related to the F-14 and the Christen Eagle in the logs. I'll try to remove my Christen Eagle, but I suspect it won't help due to the F-14 (which I don't even own by the way). There are other errors in the logs that I have no control over. I'm thinking about going back to the stable version to see if it has this continual crashing after either clicking the fly or exit back to editor buttons. This is really bad timing for ED's sale right now. Why purchase another model if I'm going to get crashes after crashes right now? ChuckIV

So now I can conclude there's something wrong with DCS VR. I've just finished playing with my friend as RIO in F14, no crash at all for 2 hours.

Last night I tried another usb 3.0 port, reinstall Oculus home but problem remains. So I hope fix would be coming soon.

For now TrackIR is a savior. :(

You were until too right, my friend, and I did well to follow your advise.

Effectively, doing so made me get to solve all my issues... almost couldn't remember since when I could fly a mission after one other in sequence.

Neither the glorious Tomcat is giving troubles any longer.

Thanks a lot and take care.

Agree, something is changing good also on their hand, as seems.

Chuck said it well: let those guys at ED have their time to think how to fix all those issues and release the remedies.

With best regards.
