Swordfish Posted April 24, 2019 Posted April 24, 2019 I play on Blue flag PG were the tomcat is on the USSR side, so flying alongside su27, mig 29 etc. Opponents are Hornets, harriers and a10 etc. So whilst flying i noticed that Jester makes incorrect IFF, mainly in STT lock. If I lock a Hornet, harrier, A10, he calls "thats a buddy". I can cleary see the target through the TCS I can see its one of the aforementioned aircraft on an opposite coalition. If I lock an su27 in stt for example - Jester calls "thats a bandit", the aircraft is on MY coalition. I assume that Jester if therefore is calling bandit or buddy, based on A/C model, which is very annoying, especially when flying as an Iranian f14. I dont know if this has been mentioned, but it may require looking at.
Cruiser18 Posted April 24, 2019 Posted April 24, 2019 It could also be that Jester is "locked" to the blue side, and anything he sees that is a red coalition plane is labeled a bandit, even if Jester himself is on red coalition?
Rlaxoxo Posted April 24, 2019 Posted April 24, 2019 TCS system is bugged right now, it won't switch locks. So the target you're looking could be an older target that you've locked [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Youtube Reddit
DUSTY Posted April 25, 2019 Posted April 25, 2019 I fly the Tomcat on the BF PG server for most of my flying and I have only experienced this for the first time tonight. Locking a Hornet WVR, Jester said "Hey watch it, that's a buddy". Mostly he will just ID the aircraft I've locked by saying "That's a Hornet/Harrier/Eagle/etc" which is extremely useful. Perhaps it's related to the TCS bug? Although I haven't experienced that, the TCS worked great tonight. Biggus Posted December 6, 2020 Posted December 6, 2020 Just bumping this one because it's an ongoing issue. I regularly have Jester call 'buddy' on hostiles. Seems to be mostly when locking up F-5Es, although I have had it with some other aircraft.

VERY sporadic. - - - The only real mystery in life is just why kamikaze pilots wore helmets? - - -
sublime Posted December 11, 2020 Posted December 11, 2020 Ive asked for this several times ( you can even search my posts ) I DID get HB to say theyd consider it before This is my case Near the scope, the DDD, theres only like 7 buttons. this is right in your face eye level. one of those is IFF INTERROGATE. apparently someone thought this important, right? I dnt care if the game cheats and magically reveals friendly or not when pressed if I ask jester, or whatever they do, but Id REALLY like a jester>BVR>IFF INT. with either a callout and him marking it (it is a rio function a human can do, using the data wheel) or whatever. I will say, though he does say buddy lock etc, if theres a lot of contacts, and youre STTing them to go through them and try to see who is hostile, sometimes he will be 'overwhelmed' with calls, or not call it, or a newer sound gets played over it - regardless its led to friendly fire incidents for me in SP. In MP with a rio this is solvable, but this is VERY important just like a jester being able to LGB (even if its not use lantirn, but you designating a primary and secondary with f10, anything, and you tell jester >grnd attack> LGBs> then have a target primary and target secondary option. And... basically if you get in parameters idk it just works - again even if it cheats a little. the alternative is stop suppressing the mod that let you use lantirn from front seat. MP this is grim because you cant switch seats BUMP
