Assigning mouse buttons

Hi,

 

Why isn't it possible to assign mouse button to most functions? Only a few are allowed in the mouse column.

 

For example if I wanted to use the mousewheel to fine adjust throttle I cant.

 

I fly exclusively in VR with right hand on stick and left hand on mouse to flip switches in the fully interactive cockpit.

I think DCS has an interface philosophy that deems the mouse outside of “reality” so you can use it to look and point, but it can only interact with what it touches, and can’t be an analog to anything in “real” space.

 

There may be a legit code reason for this, or it may just be a fundamental design choice.

 

Going from throttle to mouse isn’t that hard, but I’d personally be more focused on better VR interface methods than making the mouse do more.
