FSKRipper Posted May 3, 2019 Posted May 3, 2019 Since 2 months and more than 1300 views of the thread could not bring up some info I conclude this could be a bug: During DYK precision mode (set to ANF) and using a popup point I get no steering information on the HUD for the popup point, only for the target. This is different from the PLAN mode where you are guided to the P-Point and then the symbology switches to the real target. In my understanding the P-Point would be much more important in a dive mode so supporting level bombing with steering information but not dive bombing makes no sense imo. i9 9900K @ 5,0GHz | 1080GTX | 32GB RAM | 256GB, 512GB & 1TB Samsung SSDs | TIR5 w/ Track Clip | Virpil T-50 Stick with extension + Warthog Throttle | MFG Crosswind pedals | Gametrix 908 Jetseat [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
RagnarDa Posted May 4, 2019 Posted May 4, 2019 (edited) HUD not switching in DYK Bomb Mode Can you give more information? What re your weapon settings? Are you in NAV mode? What do you see and what do you expect to see? Also, screenshot would help. Edited May 4, 2019 by RagnarDa DCS AJS37 HACKERMAN There will always be bugs. If everything is a priority nothing is.
RagnarDa Posted May 4, 2019 Posted May 4, 2019 (edited) HUD not switching in DYK Bomb Mode I see now that you mention that you are in ANF. Do you mean that the target ring shows the pop-up point in PLAN mode? Because if so that would be a bug. Edited May 4, 2019 by RagnarDa DCS AJS37 HACKERMAN There will always be bugs. FSKRipper Posted May 4, 2019 Author Posted May 4, 2019 Will replicate it in the afternoon. i9 9900K @ 5,0GHz | 1080GTX | 32GB RAM | 256GB, 512GB & 1TB Samsung SSDs | TIR5 w/ Track Clip | Virpil T-50 Stick with extension + Warthog Throttle | MFG Crosswind pedals | Gametrix 908 Jetseat [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

Because if so that would be a bug. Hi Ragnar, I hope it is no misunderstanding from my side but here is wat happens: Picture 1: Bomb Plan Mode, with Master mode selector to ANF I'm getting HUD information to steer to the Popup Point. When reaching Popup, the HUD is automatically switching to target Point. Picture 2: DYK Mode, with MM selector in NAV I get the same reading as in Plan mode, fine for me. Picture 3: When using precision DYK mode (Weapons selector to DYK, MM selector to ANF) I have no indication where the popup point is. HUD as well as waypoint marker are directing me to the target. To get this done I would have to fly in NAV mastermode to the popup point and switching to ANF the same time I have to pull up and the waypoint changes from U1 to M1. Maybe this is intended but since this workload is not needed in the other bombing modes I would be suprised. RagnarDa Posted May 5, 2019 Posted May 5, 2019 Weird, the first two pictures doesn’t look like PLAN mode. It should look more like the third picture. DCS AJS37 HACKERMAN There will always be bugs. If everything is a priority nothing is.
FSKRipper Posted May 5, 2019 Author Posted May 5, 2019 (edited) Weird, the first two pictures doesn’t look like PLAN mode. It should look more like the third picture. Only the first is PLAN. The second is DYK in quick release mode. Both look like picture 3 when the waypoint switches from U1 to M1. Picture 3 (DYK precision mode) looks all the same the whole time pointing to M1 while showing U1. I have no possibility to find the popup point while in ANF. If it is not realy clear I can try to make two tracks this evening… EDIT: I added 3 tracks showing the possible issue with Dyk precision mode in comparismPLAN.trkDYK quick release.trkDYK precision.trk Edited May 5, 2019 by FSKRipper Tracks added i9 9900K @ 5,0GHz | 1080GTX | 32GB RAM | 256GB, 512GB & 1TB Samsung SSDs | TIR5 w/ Track Clip | Virpil T-50 Stick with extension + Warthog Throttle | MFG Crosswind pedals | Gametrix 908 Jetseat [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
RagnarDa Posted May 5, 2019 Posted May 5, 2019 (edited) Hmm... It looks like I made it disallow bombing non BP and M-target waypoints. Apparantly I allowed it with CCIP and DYK mode but not the others... I'm removing this code now but I have to check it first so not sure it will make it into next update (if there is one the coming week). Edit: I realized this will be the opposite of what you wanted but I think this is the correct behavior. You'll have to stay in NAV until passed the pop-up point and the switch to ANF (which wouldnt be hard in the real plane as the master mode selector is just by the throttle). Edit2: It looks like it works. Edited May 5, 2019 by RagnarDa DCS AJS37 HACKERMAN There will always be bugs. If everything is a priority nothing is.
Palten Posted May 6, 2019 Posted May 6, 2019 Should you ever switch to ANF when performing a PLAN bombing? At least with high drag bombs I'm pretty certain that it is performed in NAV mode. As long as it is consistant between all modes I have no issue using the Master mode switch. i9 9900K @ 5,0GHz | 1080GTX | 32GB RAM | 256GB, 512GB & 1TB Samsung SSDs | TIR5 w/ Track Clip | Virpil T-50 Stick with extension + Warthog Throttle | MFG Crosswind pedals | Gametrix 908 Jetseat [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

Asking since I still have stuff to learn :) PLAN with High Drag Bombs (=CCIP mode) is indeed done in NAV only. At least that's how it worked so far. FSKRipper Posted May 6, 2019 Author Posted May 6, 2019 (edited) Thats Right. Here is a nice diagram from the manual page 297 where you can see which combinations can be used.
