thereminqblank Posted September 6, 2007 Posted September 6, 2007 I'm not sure if the Striker Extreme supports DDR3, unless you've heard somewhere else. Here are the ASUS specifications: http://usa.asus.com/products.aspx?l1=3&l2=11&l3=397&l4=0&model=1439&modelmenu=2 Read around their forums for more info, there might be BIOS updates to take care of this. Cases: the Thermaltake Armour (with 25cm side fan) and the Silverstone TJ07 are my faves at the moment "Unholy Roller" [sIGPIC]http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/images/userbars/A-10C_UserBar_01.gif[/sIGPIC]

DDR2 and DDR3 are both 240pin, but the physical notches to fit them in the slot are in different places And really, that board is not new, which can be a good thing lol That PSU is really well done, the only future proofing measure I would think about is 2 x 8pin PCI-E (as opposed to 2 x 6 pin.) It makes no difference with todays GPUs... but the next round of Nvidia and ATI cards may for some odd reason require them. Thats merely a guess though... http://3sqn.com/forum/ Here's to 1.13 -- > http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h0488djMDBU

Raised_Dead out. That PSU is a great choice. For other PSU options, check out Jonny Guru's website. He is pretty well known regarding PSU reviews. http://www.jonnyguru.com/reviews.php Regarding cases, that is a very personal choice. I like Lian Li cases, in particular the PC-G70 and the PC-A70. Both are great for my water cooling needs. I am in the process of putting together a new rig in a PC-A70b case. This design is great, it is very modular. The top panel, front panel, side panels, motherboard tray, PSU tray, and hard drive cages are all removable. Easy to put on a workbench and do modding and cutting :) Intel Xeon E5-1650 v2 ASUS Sabertooth X79 4 x 4GB Crucial Ballistix VLP PC3-12800 ASUS Cerberus GTX 1070 Ti 8 Gb Seasonic Platinum 860W Thrustmaster Cougar Uber II Nxt CH Products PT/TQ/MFP Slaw Pedals TrackIR 5
