Ziptie Posted August 25, 2019 Posted August 25, 2019 Open Beta, I was able to load them for a mission but now they don't show for any station not even station 5. Hope I didn't overwrite the load out. or something. but they don't show even if I create a mission load GBU's the Targeting pod option doesn't show. That is certainly odd... Did you try running the "DCS repair tool" yet by chance? If not, give that a try and see if it fixes your issue. jjackal78 Posted August 25, 2019 Posted August 25, 2019 It turns out the drive I had the beta install on was disconnected. Works great now.
Jerec Posted August 25, 2019 Posted August 25, 2019 Is it possible to slave the TPG on moving targets?
mcnabb100 Posted August 25, 2019 Posted August 25, 2019 Is it possible to slave the TPG on moving targets? Yes, use point track mode. I think its sensor select right to select that mode but I'm not 100%, havent flown in a while. You will know you are in the right mode when a small box appears in the tgp crosshairs.
Ziptie Posted August 25, 2019 Posted August 25, 2019 Is it possible to slave the TPG on moving targets? Short answer: yes. Long answer: There are limitations to it (range, contrast of target to background, etc), but yes you can. You press sensor select (in the direction that the FLIR is displayed on the DDI/AMPCD), so you would either press sensor select left, right, or down - again depending on which display you are using for the FLIR/TPOD. On the top left corner of that display, it will either show ATRK or PTRK, which is area track or point track. In point track mode, in the center of the gate (some call it crosshairs) there will be a box. In area track, there will not be a box in the center of the gate (some call it crosshairs). Then there are limitations depending on which weapon you intend to employ as to whether that weapon will properly track the desired moving target. Didn't include all the ins and outs of the procedure, but a few of the important ones. Jerec Posted August 26, 2019 Posted August 26, 2019 Thanks!! As you mentioned correctly PTRK hat its limitations. It doesent work with small ships like the Molnya no matter what range (tested it with no weapon, just the Tpod). Also the tracking of fast moving vehicles like the BTR80 moving with a speed of about 60 mph is impossible. But for slowly moving tanks it works great!
