I set up 2 targets PP1 and PP2. When I Drop my first JDAM PP2 target box crosses out and all the coordinates disappear. I have no Idea why. It means I cant release more than one JDAM at separate targets in same area per pass. Any Ideas?

It's ok, I managed to find out a way to do it. I just press the STEP button within PP1 to select and program a bomb on a different pylon that worked for me.

each pylon has it's own coordinate set. you should program your PP2 into the second pylon's PP2 as the pylons step between drops.

I’m not following. Yesterday I flew a mission where I had four different targets, and they were all programmed under PP1. I don’t really understand why there are so many PP slots available since you can program all necessary targets under only one.

I am also confused about this. Love to hear some feedback.

Each weapon station (pylon) has its own set of PP targets. So a single smart weapon on station 2 can have its own set of PP targets, and a single smart weapon on station 8 also has its own set of PP targets. PP1 on station 2 is not the same target as PP1 on station 3, 7, or 8 (unless you program it to be the same coordinates).

So let's say you have 4 smart weapons on 4 stations for 4 targets. Set PP1 on station 2 for target 1, set PP1 on station 3 for target 2, PP1 on 7 for target 3, and PP1 on 8 for target 4. That way when you drop the JDAMs, the SMS stays on PP1 through all the weapon stations as each weapon is released.

In regards to victorlima's comment, let's say you had each station loaded with BRU-55s, therefore you would have 8 total smart weapons. A single mission (MSN) for pre-planned targets wouldn't encompass enough target points for all 8 weapons (since PP targets only go up to 5). In this instance, you would set up two targets (PP1 and PP2) on each weapon station. When it's time to drop, you would drop 4 weapons that were programmed for PP1, then cycle to PP2 for the next 4. Keep in mind that PP1 and PP2 are different for each weapon station. As far as having so many available PP targets, imagine half of your targets move or are destroyed while en route. The rest of the PP targets can be used for secondary targets. Better to have everything pre-planned ahead of time just in case, that way you wouldn't have to waste time inputting the coordinates in a hot zone.

Wags has stated that eventually they will implement the ability to designate left and right weapons on a BRU-55 rack so that PP1 and PP2 can be assigned to each one individually instead of having to select the PP target manually.

Crystal clear, thank you.

I think it’s also used for your wingman’s targets. In the event he can’t put shots on target and his targets are more valuable, switch your mission to PP2 and fire away.
