frogger
firstly id like to give full credit for this being a possibility to MATBOG who has put in the hard work modeling the M2000 and providing his model for free. his build is here https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=170097 so to start i exported parts of matbogs model and put them into a printable format. i decided to try print the left MIP as a test but my printer has limited size so i had to cut and join it which im not happy with, im already in talks with a local small business that has a laser cutter and may be able to help by cutting the main parts from thin plywood :P progress so far. note the software did mess up the main panel and it was very late and i didnt catch it. the autopilot panel cut out got removed and the comms display got turned into 2 holes rather then just 1  either way this whole thing was 1 nights work. so im pretty pleased. the gear indicator was my first test to see if printing the files was possible. i made it in 2 parts and added paper and coloured in the holes , not perfect but still makes me grin. i will be modeling some switch caps and buttons needed for the panels while i continue to print more stuff. Extranajero
You made a much nicer job of the gear indicator panel than I did. I tried to be too clever with mine. It's a great start. --------------------------------------------------------- PC specs:- Intel 386DX, 2mb memory, onboard graphics, 14" 640x480 monitor Modules owned:- Bachem Natter, Cessna 150, Project Pluto, Sopwith Snipe
frogger
Your one looked to have more detail, since ill be flying in vr i dont need the details or leds which makes it a very simple process to build with such noce models avaliable. Hard parts are modeling push button mounts for behind the panels.
frogger
bit more progress over the week. starter panel in progress and radio panels in progress. since its a VR pit i went with a rocker style button setup rather then a rotary dial like the real aircraft, as i wont need to see the numbers changing on the physical panel. printing is done at a lower quality for testing purposes to save on time. frogger
little update today but not alot on the physical side of the pit. put together the mount for the head down display so it sits at the right angle. started getting the plans for the ejection seat and side panels done to pdf and also been learning abit more fusion 360 , however i find it really difficult in some parts and i will likely just wait for dimebugs files when they go for sale. this one i may print as a desk weight :P

frogger
small update but not small work load, still heaps to do on this part including cutting side panel holes for the right side build the top section, build the bottom cosmetics for the butt plate and then deck it out with decals and 3d printed parts so it looks less like mdf haha. im 90kg and it holds my weight fine so its ok. frogger
ive not been putting all my photos up on here due to time restrictions. so ill put up some photos that date in the past. this tv cost me $10 as the backlight didnt work, i used a 20mm bit of wire i had to bypass the burnt out led and bobs ya uncle. the latest update include some decals ive made in photoshop , i also made a simple wooden box for my 3d printer to allow better heat control required for abs printing so i have been able to do some more parts for the mk10 seat as well as test print my throttle handle for testing of size and just to see how it is in general. i modeled this from matbogs photos and was unsure how it would turn out but im pretty happy with the result so far, i dont expect an exact replica but most people that look at it know what it is. the grip texture is way to small so ill adjust that. *edit* always using the wrong image code :P Edited November 3, 2019 by frogger wrong imagine links
frogger
few renders as the throttle develops. i saw the idea of a 6x6mm tac switch having its legs passed through a 3d print which held it on nicely so i thought id try this.

frogger
hi guys, been a while. i have unfortunately decided to put this project on hold, back in December i had to have a knee surgery , micro fracture surgery which will take some time to fully heal so i really need to take it easy to avoid the need for a full knee replacement at a young age. i also have another project in my garage you might have spotted which is a real Cessna 188 crop duster aircraft cockpit shell. i saved it from being crushed and i hope to build it into something that i can trailer to events locally to help raise money for the royal flying doctor service and more so now fire fighters. i will still be around using my mk10 replica seat as a standalone vr seat , thanks again for everyone's encouragement with this build.
