vassel Posted September 16, 2007 Posted September 16, 2007 I downloaded the Su-25T templates from the lockon website. I noted that the 6 psd files are very important when making a skin. After I thought I finished skinning, I took a look at what I have done and noticed I am missing some parts in my skin, I have looked around, studied other skins made by other skinner, and their work turns out perfect even when I tried to copy the same just to know I am on the right track. Here are the screenshots below, You will notice the parts I cannot seem to find to skin. Please help me out here. What am I doing wronge? I have been working on this for 2 days without any results to this. Thankyou.

The way it looks.. like you just don't have any texture on there, just the 3d model.. Colt40Five Posted September 16, 2007 Posted September 16, 2007 Hey vassel, are you just copying .bmps into the temptexture folder or are you trying to insert them into a .cdds? If you're trying .cdds, skip that for now and just copy the skin .bmps directly into lockon/bazar/temptextures. If they're named correctly they will work. If that doesn't solve it you can convert the skin .bmps to .jpeg and post them here so we can get a better idea of what might be going on. It also might be helpful if you type exactly what the file names you're using are. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

Colt40Five Posted September 16, 2007 Posted September 16, 2007 Okay I don't do my skins like that, so I can't help you there. And why are there ship files and runway textures in there? If you just want to see the skin in game now, rename SU39-paint1-6 to replace DEF-01(instead of 10), and then copy only those files (must be .bmps) to lockon/bazar/temptextures. Skin should then be the first one in your in-game list of skins. EDIT hold on a second.....most of your skins are only like half the image....I'll post examples in a sec... vassel Posted September 16, 2007 Author Posted September 16, 2007 Colt thanks alot...They are way to big, bigger than is expected for the game to carry. I looked hard at it too and noticed. Edit...I have resized the image from the original templates. It works perfectly now. I guess the 2 day learning to skin made me crazy to forget the simplest of answers/facts of skinning. I did not adjust size of template correctly, instead I made new templates for all with 1024x1024 and pasted it there. wow. Thanks Colt, great help.
