Boneski Posted June 24, 2019 Posted June 24, 2019 It would be nice to have generic Airfields That we can place on the map especially on the Caucasus map so we can set a place for Ai Planes to take of and land:) These airfields would not need to have function ATC or functional Harden Shelters or even parking spaces... The User placeable Airfields would not need to have all of the options like Static airfields have. Basically Ai Planes placed at this airports have 2 options. Take off and land. They spawn on the runway...and take off and fly their waypoints and if they return to a user placeable airfield, they land there and de-spawn. It seems like a better option for mission builders then just spawning jets in the air. My mission is to fly, fight, and win. o-:|:-o What I do is sometimes get a tin of soup, heat it up, poach an egg in it, serve that with a pork pie sausage roll.
QuiGon Posted June 25, 2019 Posted June 25, 2019 ED has definitely worked on such airfields (for WW2) and I think a non-functional WIP version of them is even available in the mission editor (if they haven't removed it again). It has been there for quite a while now without ever becoming functional, so I wonder what the status on that is? Intel i7-12700K @ 8x5GHz+4x3.8GHz + 32 GB DDR5 RAM + Nvidia Geforce RTX 2080 (8 GB VRAM) + M.2 SSD + Windows 10 64Bit DCS Panavia Tornado (IDS) really needs to be a thing!
Exorcet Posted June 25, 2019 Posted June 25, 2019 Limiting them to AI sounds like a waste. While I do on occasion notice the lack of Bushehr on the PG map, the biggest addition from placeable airfields in my opinion would be expanding maps for player use.
