Hi, been trawling through the forums for hiding the MFD displays in cockpit. Found stuff for a10c etc and have tried to follow that for the fa18 all I managed to do was bork my install - repair and start again...

so I have 3 8" screens with successful MFD &AMPCD export but wanting to stop the render of the screens on the cockpit display...

any pointers ?:helpsmilie::joystick:

It's kind of a big stick method but I haven't found of any other way.

Be aware it will also shut down the RWR so no little back up display (EW page on the DDI works fine} and the EFEI fuel / RPM display however both can be exported.

I export them to my second monitor which also has three Cougar MFD's attached for the DDI's and AMPCD.

BTW - This will also shut down any displays in any other aircraft you own.

I set this up as an OvGME mod for turning it on or off and for updates but it's pretty simple to just add / remove the two dashes as well.

This is the file location;

X:\DCS World OpenBeta\Scripts\Aircrafts\_Common\Cockpit\ViewportHandling.lua

Look for line 80 & 81

dedicated_viewport_arcade = dedicated_viewport

purposes = {--render_purpose.GENERAL,

Use Notepad++ and add the two dashes noted in red above (remarks out the line) To re-activate the in-game displays just delete them.

Good luck and if you find a way to selectively shut down the in-game displays let us know.

I don't fly MP so don't know if it will pass the IC on the servers that have it activated.

Just wondering why you want to disable the in-cockpit displays.

Does it improve the framerate rendering just to the extra displays instead of to both?

@Py

Yes, it helps since the game isn't rendering the image(s) twice. Not a huge amount but if you have a marginal system it can help.

Takes a bit of getting use to initially.
