sobe Posted July 5, 2019 Posted July 5, 2019 I have the WarBrd base with the warthog grip. I am going to swap the springs that came with the base for the heavier springs. While I am doing that I am considering changing the cams to the extra set that came with the warbrd base. I fly only airplane sims so my question is-how do the extra cams differ from the installed cams? Would the extra cams be appropriate for flight sims? Cyph3r Posted July 5, 2019 Posted July 5, 2019 Hi Sobe! The installed cams are "AviaSim - Soft Center" cams, the included set is "AviaSim - No Center" cams. The slight "detent" that lets you know when you're crossing the center of either the X or Y axis will be removed and will simply be a smooth transition. It's worth noting that even the WarBRD CosmoSim cams are appropriate for flight sims (as many do use these for flight sims). It's entirely down to personal preference! More information can be found on the product page: https://virpil-controls.eu/vpc-warbrd-base.html ► Website: www.virpil.com // ► Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/VirPilControls // ► Twitter: https://twitter.com/VirPilControls For support please email support@virpil.com to open a ticket! PlainSight Posted July 6, 2019 Posted July 6, 2019 The no-bump cams and harder springs give me the best feeling for flying. Definitely recommend you try them. No bump or any other disturbance when crossing the center area is the biggest reason why I purchased this base. Totally worth it. [SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]
sobe Posted July 6, 2019 Author Posted July 6, 2019 PlainSight I just finished changing the springs this morning when I read your post. For now I think I will just get used to the heavier springs before I consider your post of using the no-center cams. The current cams with the heavier spring seems to have almost no center detente so I am not sure what the other cams will feel like. Do the no-center detente cams still go back to center when the grip is released? PlainSight Posted July 11, 2019 Posted July 11, 2019 Of course, the joystick does return back to center. But it takes very little effort to move it. Ideal for precise moves. [SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]
