RevMagnum Posted July 9, 2019 Posted July 9, 2019 I'm not fully sure if it's the right place to ask but I wonder if ED thinks to address MS force feedback 2 compatibility issues that we are experiencing since earliest versions. As MSFFB2 users, we are aware that it's a rather old stick yet it's a very capable and a rigid one. Other than the infamous trim issues which we have to counter with FF swapping, there's a new issue emerged with the A4E. Aileron trim and AFCS (autopilot) didn't work WITH MSFFB2 plugged. Thanks to Heclak, aileron trim is now fixed but there's no hope for AFCS right now. A new HOTAS is obviously needed but some cannot afford it instantly and now we feel intimidated to invest on modules not knowing what issues might come up regarding our good ol' stick. Any comment is highly appreciated, thanks.
Eldur Posted July 9, 2019 Posted July 9, 2019 Now that's why the AP wouldn't work on my end when I tried it in the Scoots. Heclak should ask Heatblur how they fixed that since the Tomcat had the same issue.
RevMagnum Posted July 9, 2019 Author Posted July 9, 2019 Tomcat had the same?! ... Then it is quite possible F-5 or Mig-21 would suffer the same or similar related to msff2... Since this problem is going on for more than a decade with DCS I don't think it would be wise to buy a module before buying decent hotas setup which costs like a min wage where I live.
Weta43 Posted July 9, 2019 Posted July 9, 2019 I use an MSFFBII and the only modules that have serious issues are 3rd party - (or unofficial mods). Perhaps post the complaint to them ? (Having to swap axis isn't a bug it's a configuration setting. Not having the swap axis option would be a bug.) Cheers.
RevMagnum Posted July 10, 2019 Author Posted July 10, 2019 I understand and thanks for the input. Then I think it is safe to assume that ED original modules likely won't have a problem.
Eldur Posted July 10, 2019 Posted July 10, 2019 Well the F-15C AP doesn't work either. Reported back in the day when it's FM arrived, nada. Same for the trim issues with the Flankers which are unable to fly level faster than ~380kph IAS with full nose down trim - going faster they'll baloon up like a Hornet that gets dirtied up at 250kts, with the stick almost at the front wall by the way. My report threads got locked and tagged [NO BUG] or [CAN'T REPRODUCE]. But the issues are there, obviously. So the ED modules do have problems. But as per 1.4, I won't report that again... gotta live with it. I guess we'd just need new FFB devices on the market finally to get rid of those problems by increasing the importance.
