Autopilot pitch hold changed?

Before when engaging the main autopilot switch only, the aircraft would hold pitch and roll attitude, you could change pitch and roll attitude with the stick and the aircraft would hold the new attitude.

 

Now it seems whatever pitch attitude was present when turning on the AP, the aircraft wants to return to that pitch setting when the stick is released but the new roll attitude is held.

 

Is it supposed to be that like that?
