Sergeant_Hamlet Posted July 21, 2019 Posted July 21, 2019 Could we possibly get the JHMCS symbology cluster moved up on the screen so it aligns more with the rule of thirds? The current neutral head position puts the symbols right in the space between the bottom of the hud and the top of the front dash, so you have to crane your head back slightly to avoid having the duplicated symbols constantly in front of you. I realize the HMCS interfaces with how the sensors work, so this request is probably not as easy to fulfill as it sounds, but would you guys consider it please?
raelias Posted July 21, 2019 Posted July 21, 2019 Thats because the JHMCS is centered on your view, neutral head position is more downwards so it pops, you can use the RECCE button on the stick to toggle the simbology on and off on the helmet, so I usually only turn it on when im actually using it and leave it toggled off if not Win10 64, MSI Krait Gaming Z370, I7 8700K, Geforce 1080Ti FTW3 ,32 GB Ram, Samsung 980 EVO SSD Modules: Combind Arms, A-10C, F-86F, F/A-18, F-16, Flaming Cliffs, KA-50, L-39, P-51, UH-1, Christen Eagle II, Persian Gulf
Sergeant_Hamlet Posted July 21, 2019 Author Posted July 21, 2019 I realize that the problem is caused by the symbology being centered in my view, which is why my request was that the symbology's position be shifted.
Jak525 Posted July 23, 2019 Posted July 23, 2019 It seems pretty odd that hole in the blanking exists between the HUD and the glareshield. Are we sure that isn't a bug?
Rainmaker Posted July 23, 2019 Posted July 23, 2019 Perhaps it will be addressed when/if the HMD alignment option is implemented on the BIT page. In theory, it should be an option that’s variable based on how each person looks at their monitor. Time will tell I guess...
Maverick806 Posted July 24, 2019 Posted July 24, 2019 Alternatively, you can adjust the default view so you aren’t looking down. Assuming you have head tracking, the only real problem is that NVGs are’t centered 9800X3D, 64GB DDR5, RTX 3080 Valve Index, RS FSSB R3 Ultra, TM Viper TQS, TM TPR Pedals
Ziptie Posted July 24, 2019 Posted July 24, 2019 Must be an issue with using monitors and not with VR. Can't notice any issue with alignment or interference with any of the other displays (personal experience / observation). Agree with another member, when (or possibly "if") ED implements the HMD setting function on DDI. i7 6700 @4ghz, 32GB HyperX Fury ddr4-2133 ram, GTX980, Oculus Rift CV1, 2x1TB SSD drives (one solely for DCS OpenBeta standalone) Thrustmaster Warthog HOTAS, Thrustmaster Cougar MFDs Airframes: A10C, A10CII, F/A-18C, F-14B, F-16C, UH=1H, FC3.
