STe79ITA Posted July 21, 2019 Posted July 21, 2019 I was thinking if would be possible in the near future to fly in mixed reality. The idea was to link VR to homemade cockpit. You can see your cockpit or part of it if it is not a 1:1 cockpit and visor display renders anything beside it. For example if you only have the tm mfd's you could place them on top of a green panel and actually see them through the rendered image. What do you guys think about that?
The_Nephilim Posted July 22, 2019 Posted July 22, 2019 umm that would be Augmented reality ;) Intel Ultra 265K 5.5GHZ / Gigabyte Z890 Aorus Elite / MSI 4070Ti Ventus 12GB / SoundBlaster Z SoundCard / Corsair Vengance 64GB Ram / HP Reverb G2 / Samsung 980 Pro 2TB Games / Crucial 512GB M.2 Win 11 Pro 21H2 / ButtKicker Gamer / CoolerMaster TD500 Mesh V2 PC Case
jojo Posted July 22, 2019 Posted July 22, 2019 Sure it would be great. But you would need: - high resolution colour camera on the headset or - HMD like display (like Microsoft Hololens but good enough to display a game like DCS). The price would skyrocket... Maybe you could mod or make an extension for an existing VR headset with GoPro cameras...but it requires serious skill ! Mirage fanatic !
