Johnny Dioxin Posted July 24, 2019 Posted July 24, 2019 To my surprise... and for £333 - not bad... https://www.amazon.co.uk/Oculus-Rift-Touch-Controllers-Bundle/dp/B073X8N1YW/ref=sr_1_14?keywords=virtual+reality+headset&qid=1564002080&s=gateway&sr=8-14 It's the complete, original package. Wonder if they found some stock somewhere or are Oculus now selling them again? Doesn't say they are refurbished. Johnny Dioxin Posted July 25, 2019 Author Posted July 25, 2019 Yeah, that's what I thought. There were a lot of people very disappointed about the CV1 disappearing from sale, especially those who didn't want to buy one of the new headsets, and were concerned what would happen if their current CV1 developed a fault or was damaged, or a sensor went U/S. Didn't seem logical that production or sale was halted, when Oculus themselves were saying that the S isn't aimed at CV1 owners. RedX Posted July 27, 2019 Posted July 27, 2019 Well, having gone through the replacement routine 3 times last winter, my experience is not very positive. I only received refurbished units that had poorly calibrated screens, scratches on lenses etc. Then I got frustrated enough to buy a New CV1 for cheap a few of weeks before the local computer stores eventually ran out. Hopefully the ones they sell now are new manufacturing batch and not old refurbished sets that were crappy. Johnny Dioxin Posted July 27, 2019 Author Posted July 27, 2019 The advantage here being, Amazon are very good for refunds. If it turns out that way (refurbs being sold) it's easy to get your money back ;) Rig: Asus TUF GAMING B650-PLUS; Ryzen 7800X3D ; 64GB DDR5 5600; RTX 4080; VPC T50 CM2 HOTAS; Pimax Crystal Light I'm learning to fly - but I ain't got wings With my head in VR - it's the next best thing!
