kalas1988 Posted July 25, 2019 Posted July 25, 2019 Hello Guys, I am having some problems with the GBU! 1. GBU-24 seems not to track the laser, it is just an ordinary "dumb" bomb. 2. when using GBU-12 , I cannot release two or more bombs dough I have selected more than 1 on the PPA. Thank you, regards Asrock Z270 pro4, i7 6700, gtx 1070

Thank you, regards 1- GBU-24 is ED's bomb and it's currently bugged. I've just read that they are working on it. 2- Mirage 2000 doesn't support multiple GBU release. Mirage fanatic ! QuiGon Posted July 25, 2019 Posted July 25, 2019 2- Mirage 2000 doesn't support multiple GBU release. Any idea why? Despite being a LGB it gets dropped like any other dum MK-8X bomb and they can be dropped in ripple. I'm just wondering about the technical implications of this limitation. Intel i7-12700K @ 8x5GHz+4x3.8GHz + 32 GB DDR5 RAM + Nvidia Geforce RTX 2080 (8 GB VRAM) + M.2 SSD + Windows 10 64Bit DCS Panavia Tornado (IDS) really needs to be a thing!

I'm just wondering about the technical implications of this limitation. I guess they decided it like that. It's an expensive munition, and generally impact shake off the targeting pod LOS, which would make the second one miss. Plus all flying dirt may disrupt the laser beam too. And finally the PCA code (EL1) is different from general purpose bomb (BL1), that makes it possible to set different options in the system. By the way, I would rather say that the MK-82/ GBU-12 are released like SAMP 250. :D Mirage fanatic ! ZHeN Posted July 25, 2019 Posted July 25, 2019 2- Mirage 2000 doesn't support multiple GBU release. Yeah right :D [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Deano87 Posted July 25, 2019 Posted July 25, 2019 Yeah right :D Those are all single drops... I don't see your point. ZHeN Posted July 25, 2019 Posted July 25, 2019 I could drop em all at once, but they'd hit just one target, I had to kill all four [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

I guess they had their reasons to do it the way it is. Anyways, thanks for the explanations! Intel i7-12700K @ 8x5GHz+4x3.8GHz + 32 GB DDR5 RAM + Nvidia Geforce RTX 2080 (8 GB VRAM) + M.2 SSD + Windows 10 64Bit DCS Panavia Tornado (IDS) really needs to be a thing!
jojo Posted July 26, 2019 Posted July 26, 2019 (edited) I think this is just the logic behind the system: to do the maximum to prevent the pilot from screwing things up. The weapons are loaded with a specific attack profile in mind. It isn’t as flexible as US systems on Hornet or F-16. But SEL JET is a back up delivery mode that kind of override the PPA. So I think that if you can compute a delivery point to release GBU and put them in the basket to guide, you can release in quick succession that way. But always keep in mind Mirage 2000C was designed as Fox 1 interceptor, with unguided AG weapons as secondary role (it was something like 15% of the training). The plane lost its Suoer 530D in 2012, and since then the weapon system has been tricked to do different things... Edited July 26, 2019 by jojo Mirage fanatic ! Yeah, I guess that's probably the foremost reason why they did it like that.
