Dagger98 Posted July 26, 2019 Posted July 26, 2019 After seeing [TASF]Overkill's thread on running DCS on Linux, https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=229253 I thought it would be a fun summer project to get DCS up and running myself. It worked surprisingly well! My setup is * Ubuntu 19.04 * TrackIR Pro 4 * HOTAS Warthog * Saitek rudders I documented the steps in the attached guide (markdown format), even how to control the backlight LED on the throttle :) If you spot any errors or learn anything new that could be valuable to the guide, please share with others in this thread. Have a nice weekend! Daggerhowto_install_on_linux.md.txthowto_install_on_linux.md.sha1.txt

I actually have no interest on Linux at the moment, but if Microsoft keeps degrading (rather than improving) Windows I might actually need to switch ... fortunately, Linux gaming seems to be improving lately: https://www.forbes.com/sites/jasonevangelho/2019/07/17/these-windows-10-vs-pop-os-benchmarks-reveal-a-surprising-truth-about-linux-gaming-performance/#5209d5995e74 https://itsfoss.com/linux-games-performance-boost-amd-gpu/ Best regards For work: iMac mid-2010 of 27" - Core i7 870 - 6 GB DDR3 1333 MHz - ATI HD5670 - SSD 256 GB - HDD 2 TB - macOS High Sierra For Gaming: 34" Monitor - Ryzen 3600 - 32 GB DDR4 2400 - nVidia RTX2080 - SSD 1.25 TB - HDD 10 TB - Win10 Pro - TM HOTAS Cougar Mobile: iPad Pro 12.9" of 256 GB
