With my CV1, I removed the oculus headphones and bought wireless steel series headphones that fit over the VR straps. Absolutely loved this setup!

The rift S headband is too thick and doesn’t allow the headphones to fit.

Has anyone found a good solution? Wireless earbuds with microphone perhaps?

I havent had the greatest luck with using different wireless headphones over bluetooth just yet. Seem to always pickup additional noise on the audio channel. I've experienced this both with a pair of Bose and Plantronics wireless headphones that I have had using a brand new bluetooth 4.0 dongle. Oddly, when I just use them to stream audio from my PC they work fine wirelessly. Its only when I stream audio from the Rift that I get issues.

That said, are you sure your steel series headphones wont work? I had trouble with mine too fitting over the top of the halo band on the Rift-S and then I noticed that if I put the headphones around my neck first, put on the Rift and then adjusted the headphone earcups up under the headband they did work. Might be something to try out.

I don't know why people like to complicate.

Just watch the video to see how Mantis for PSVR is working with Rift S or Quest.

Check it out, stop complicate and order one if you are not satisfied with generic. Mantis will provide you same experiences CV1.

When I had my Rift S, I used my V-Moda Crossfade II wireless over-the-ear headphones. The ear cups fit right under the headband almost like they were made for it. They are very good and support either wired or bluetooth connections. I would run the headphones wired, but nothing stopping you from running wireless. I would just plug them into the PC instead of the Rift S.

I also use these on planes as they have a fair bit of passive noise isolation.

If you want to try ear buds, I have tried a lot and feel like the Creative Outlier ONE is the best mix of sound quality, comfort, and price.

By the way, what ever headphones you use, you can tell Windows, Oculus, and SRS to still use the microphone on the Rift S and it works just fine.

My Astro A50's do the trick, bit of a neat fit over the headband, but they sound great. Also not the cheapest option, but I've had mine for several years and still going strong.
