So... recently upgraded to the HP reverb, and glory be, I can now actually see things. Things in the cockpit and things far far away. Its glorious.

I was flying online on a strike mission in the hornet and I noticed something weird. I could slew the Tpod to the waypoint (ish) and I could see vehicles there, but not the big factory buildings. Those appeared far later than the actual vehicles (tanks/AAA etc) did.

So the question is, does the distance setting in the graphics page dictate when buildings are drawn relative to vehicles? And if so what are the range cutoffs when they will be rendered. I am using "high" draw distance, I did try ultra but thats pretty taxing on the system and I'm not sure I saw a real difference in the draw distance for those buildings.

New hotness: I7 9700k 4.8ghz, 32gb ddr4, 2080ti, :joystick: TM Warthog. TrackIR, HP Reverb (formermly CV1)

Old-N-busted: i7 4720HQ ~3.5GHZ, +32GB DDR3 + Nvidia GTX980m (4GB VRAM) :joystick: TM Warthog. TrackIR, Rift CV1 (yes really).

View range does affect the terrain objects like buildings, runways etc, but what the actual figures are I don't know, it is all pretty janky. Some models have more/less LoDs than others so some units/buildings pop in at different times. The downside to the ''modular combination of multiple older games'' that DCS uses I suppose.

My dad at medium was having trouble finding airports, at high he could see them in the distance at least :p

- Users/username/SavedGames/DCSOpenBeta/Config is the folder path

- Integrity Checker Friendly

- Most people will have to make the autoconfig.exe file, in notepad ++ just copy:

options.graphics.Camera.Low.dynamic = {300, 60000}

options.graphics.Camera.Medium.dynamic = {300, 60000}

options.graphics.Camera.High.dynamic = {300, 60000}

options.graphics.Camera.Ultra.dynamic = {300, 60000}

options.graphics.Camera.Extreme.dynamic = {300, 60000}

and then when saving set file type to all file types and save as autoexec.cfg

This'll help with the static object draw distance which is limited to 10km now but if you use this file it will be set to 60km. So far I've not noticed any impact on FPS but I can't guarantee it.
