GazAce Posted August 7, 2019 Posted August 7, 2019 (edited) Hey all good folks there, I know this has already been brought up but I sure would like if the awesome DCS fixer-uppers would seriously take a good look at JTAC in the ME. It seems every mission I create with JTAC that involves more than a few groups of units or let’s say a unit moves after an attack that’s actually not even being Lased by my Patrol is when I get problems with my Patrol not relaying the correct responses to me or not even replying at all but that’s only one example. I know I shouldn’t complain but it does get annoying when you spend a lot of time building these missions and your let down by something that’s out of your control. The second thing I would like is a trigger in the ME that provides for, well a pat on the back if you like for a successful Air to Air Refuel as I’ve just discovered and kinda mastered it finally after a week or two of many tries. I’m really enjoying this feature and incorporating it within my missions but I can’t seem to get a trigger in the ME that would acknowledge a successful Air refuel. Would be really cool to be able to have a result like that, whether or not triggered by the response of “Refuel Complete” or maybe just by the difference in your fuel tank, I’m not sure or maybe there’s a work-around for it that I haven’t noticed. Anyway, that’s what I wouldn’t mind having atm. Overall though.. For example, receiver agrees fuel load with giver before conducting the task. As for JTAC, both written documentation as well as published JTAC training documentaries show that procedure in DCS is limited, without initial game plan prior to actual 9 line. Well, maybe once the new comms for carrier ops is out with carrier module, and ED finished ATC comms as they said will eventually happen, they will be interested to revamp logic and comms for other aspects of air ops like A2A refueling and CAS missions... BTW - not sure what you mean Xilon_X by randomly posting this Hog video... I do understand ED are stretched at times and can only spread themselves so thin in regards to resources for addressing these problems. Actually, I’m kinda grateful for what I’ve got but then again I’m hoping in time both these things will be working for us. Hey but last night I had some beautiful success with my Patrol. I had 6 targets for him to Lase, 2 were in one group and 4 individual. He identified all perfectly and my 9 line read back was replied to correctly as well but something weird happened and it happens quite a lot. The SA11 was first on my hit list and that was identified and awesome 9 line by my Patrol read back right up to the hit and afterwards and then I took out 2 MBT in one group and that went perfect with him as well but then came APC fourth target and after I state “Any remarks”? He skips the weapon I’m supposed to use and just goes straight to the lines which end in “Report IP Inbound”. It’s very strange as I have plenty of munition to use and then after I take that out and have one target left he states “Use guns” even though I have a CBU on board, it’s all pretty weird. At least after all units destroyed he does say “No further tasking available, good job, you may depart”. So it’s not completely broken, just some lose ends that need tidying I guess and I also discovered there’s a work around if he gets stuck. You just say “ Checking out” and then re engage the 9 line with him and it seems to work. And thanks for that refueling lua script tip, lua files are not one of my strong points but I’ll give it a shot. Thanks again man, appreciate it.
