Hey guys, not sure if it’s my fault or a bug.

I built a quick mission with a flight of 29s and one 18. Both loaded with radar and IR armaments.

For whatever reason even on 4 bar, I’m not picking up the 29s at all at times. Out of frustration, I switch to the 14 and of course I can watch them after they takeoff right away. I understand it’s not the same thing, but ..... come on. I should be able to see them at least 40nm out.

The tilt shows I do have the coverage to detect them from ground to 35. I dunno...

Without posting a video or track, people can't really help you.

A thing to consider is that the radar elevation which is displayed is for the location of your cursor, meaning if you have, let's say 80NM on the radar page set and the TDC is at 60-70NM with the given altitude bracket, a target at 35-40NM might be under the cone of the radar

Everybody gotta be offended and take it personally now-a-days

Disregard. I found another post with same problem. I turn off LTWS and it works. Must be a bug.

I don't know if it's a bug or just realistic. Helps to know where the bad guy is if you're using LTWS. Narrow the beam, don't try to scan the entire sky. Be close, consider medium prf.

One of my buddies suggested narrowing the azimuth, which definitely helps, but I find it a little more helpful to go to a 2-bar search and just pay attention to contact altitude, which you can get off the SA page or from a bogey dope. Either way, a 4bar wide search in interleaved mode? forget it you'll never see anything
