I have an i7 6700k @ 4.8 Evga FTW 2 GTX 1080 32 Ram Using a 165 hz 2k screen. Thanks Gary could probably maxx out most settings except terrain shadows if you limit your refresh rate to 60hz... maybe more.. terrain shadows are the biggest load as far as i can tell.. not sure how well the 1080 or th 6700k will do at cranking out 165hz of 2560x1440 DCS though.. Repsol2k Posted August 17, 2019 Posted August 17, 2019 Do u want to use TrackIr ? With TrackIr u need to See if u get stutter or not. I personally need to keep FPS at 60FPS. This i make with RivaTuner. Settings. As already mentioned be aware of shadows and as well preload radius dont crank these too much out. I have a 7700k and an 1070 OC. With these i can keep frames steady at 60FPS with Mid Settings. Texture: High Terraintexture: Low Civil traffic: Off Water: Medium View Distance : High Heat blur: Low Shadows: Flat Cockpit Resolution: 512 MSAA: 2x Effects: Off Grass: 510 Trees: 50% Preload Radius: 85000 Anisotropic filtering: 8x Terrain shadow: flat Global Cockpit Illumination: On VSYNC: Off Hope this helps. I translated it from German to english so i hope the Description is right
Irishlad200000 Posted August 17, 2019 Author Posted August 17, 2019 Cheers guys I have managed to get a steady 72- 100fps on most things maxed with G Sync. Enjoying DCS very much now!

Enjoying DCS very much now! 72-100 FPS are useless and DCS will stutter. Fixed stable and not fluctuating 60 FPS (on a 60 Hz. Monitor) will give you a much fluid experience. With Gsync you have usually zero stutter, neither looking ahead or panning around, as long as you do NOT use TrackIR, if you use TiR then you likely need locked 60fps. BTW, he has a 165Hz sceen. BitMaster Posted August 19, 2019 Posted August 19, 2019 (edited) Your assumption is not correct. I am NOT a TRACKIR user. I saw that, I also saw that you were referring to a 60Hz screen whereas the OP is using a 165Hz Gsync screen. Similar to many others HW here and those do not need to lock to 60fps for smoothness w/o any stutter. As long as no TiR is involved with panning. I do see the need to cap at 60fps if it is run on a 60Hz screen and also no Gsync, I agree fully *you may have the wrong Monitor for gaming, IPS, 76Hz, 5ms, that all points into that direction, if yours is the ASUS PA 329 Q modell. * I also did not say you are a TiR user, I just said it's OT, as it doesnt apply with the OP's questions and HW setup. ac5 Posted August 19, 2019 Posted August 19, 2019 Fine.... You understood perfectly. 60 Hz. / 60 FPS equals = perfect smoothness. I am well aware that mine is not a "gaming monitor" (by the way 60 Hz and not 76 Hz...) but I am very happy with it, both for DCS and shooters.
