sirrah Posted September 21, 2019 Posted September 21, 2019 For both my TM Warthog and Cougar I just bind all buttons and axis within the DCS control section (ingame). I know Foxy and TARGET may have a lot of extra options, but I just don't understand how these programs work and don't want to spend time learning them. Binding my buttons and axis ingame works fine for me. However, I can't seem to bind my Cougar microstick (not as axis, nor as keys) Can anyone explain to me how I make the microstick visible/bind-able in DCS, without having to install Foxy and or TARGET? I did manage to get Cougar control panel installed on my Windows10 and added the microstick x- and y-axis as shown in the attachment. CobaltUK Posted September 21, 2019 Posted September 21, 2019 I do not know if makes a difference but ive always set my microstick as axis 7 and 8 in the cougar control panel. Windows 7/10 64bit, Intel i7-4770K 3.9GHZ, 32 GB Ram, Gforce GTX 1080Ti, 11GB GDDR5 Valve Index. Force IPD 63 (for the F-16)

I tried that too, still not recognized ingame (all other axis are fine by the way) System specs: i7-8700K @stock speed - GTX 1080TI @ stock speed - AsRock Extreme4 Z370 - 32GB DDR4 @3GHz- 500GB SSD - 2TB nvme - 650W PSU HP Reverb G1 v2 - Saitek Pro pedals - TM Warthog HOTAS - TM F/A-18 Grip - TM Cougar HOTAS (NN-Dan mod) & (throttle standalone mod) - VIRPIL VPC Rotor TCS Plus with ALPHA-L grip - Pointctrl & aux banks <-- must have for VR users!! - Andre's SimShaker Jetpad - Fully adjustable DIY playseat - VA+VAICOM - Realsimulator FSSB-R3 ~ That nuke might not have been the best of ideas, Sir... the enemy is furious ~ GUMMBAH
CobaltUK Posted September 21, 2019 Posted September 21, 2019 (edited) I know i had to choose some weird axis options to set TDC slew for F18 with cougar. Not what you would suppose. Axis commands, catagory Throttle Grip,HOTAS TDC Horizontal joy_RY TDC Vertical joy_SLIDER2 I always meant to ask what it ought to be but hey it works (for me) Edited September 21, 2019 by CobaltUK Windows 7/10 64bit, Intel i7-4770K 3.9GHZ, 32 GB Ram, Gforce GTX 1080Ti, 11GB GDDR5 Valve Index. SGT Coyle Posted September 21, 2019 Posted September 21, 2019 In DCS mapping screen, it should be joy_RX and joy_RY. I always have to manually select the axis from the drop down menu mapping page. Night Ops in the Harrier IYAOYAS
CobaltUK Posted September 21, 2019 Posted September 21, 2019 Yeah i figured that what SHOULD be. Must be something wrong with my cougar setup as SLIDER2 is only choice working for me. I wont mess with setup though as its correct for mouse cursor in other sims. Windows 7/10 64bit, Intel i7-4770K 3.9GHZ, 32 GB Ram, Gforce GTX 1080Ti, 11GB GDDR5 Valve Index. CobaltUK Posted September 21, 2019 Posted September 21, 2019 (edited) No ive never found any need in other sims. I might try your axis assignment in the control panel to see if i can get the more natural joy_RX to work as quoted by SGT Coyle. sirrah Posted September 22, 2019 Author Posted September 22, 2019 (edited) It seems I'm just missing axis JOY_RY and SLIDER2 (see screenshot) I thought I had all axis on (see screenshot in OP) Anyone have any idea how to activate these axis? Side note, I'm sure all axis work (including the microstick), because when activating Foxy I did get response (microstick was set to slew keys , . ; / ). Using Foxy however messed up a lot of my other control settings, which I don't want) Edit: Found this thread on another forum. Problem seems to be, that only the first 5 axis are detected/used. I found out that: Windows axis 1 = X-axis Windows axis 2 = Y-axis Windows axis 3 = Z-axis Windows axis 4 = JOY_RX (x-axis of the microstick) Windows axis 5 = Slider1 (which I set to the antenna elev axis) Windows axis 6 = Not responding Windows axis 7 = Not responding Windows axis 8, 9 and 10 I don't use as I have separate Saitek rudder pedals Good thing is, that I was able to test all axes and verify that they all work properly. I just can't use all 7 of them :( Any help on how to get axis 6 and 7 to respond would be hugely appreciated Edit2: Ok, I don't know why or how (I actually wasn't even at my pc when it happened), but it now seems that all axes are responding... Calibration was pretty far off, but manual calibration did the trick.. some weird stuff going on here...
