royphsle Posted September 25, 2019 Posted September 25, 2019 Hi, anyone who also misses more On/Off control switches in the Hornet like Altitude Switch-Baro/RDR, Exterior Lights Switch-On/Off, Arresting Hook Handle-Up/Down and Left/Right Generator Control Switch Norm/Off? They are very common control switches so I hope the developers can implement it soon! I have the controls in the lua file but it disappears when there is an update:( -royphsle i7-4790 CPU 3.60GHz | 16 GB RAM | MSI GTX-960 Gaming 4GB | TM Warthog HOTAS | MFG Crosswind Pedals | TrackIR 5

I have the controls in the lua file but it disappears when there is an update:( It would be a great improvement if we could save our modified .lua files under \Saved Games\... so they would be safe from updates. But in the meantime I find it's easy to manage with OvGME. Only shortcoming: when new features are introduced you need to either add the new commands to your modified file or add your additions to the new stock files (without creating duplicates). But in principle I agree with you: all cockpit switches that are of the maintained ON/OFF type should have commands of the same type. Out of the box. Are you not able to find the key binds for the toggle switches, like the BARO/RDR, exterior lights and arresting hook handle? They exist. Have them bound to my HOTAS, use them all the time. Cheers, Don I don't mean toggle switches but 2-Pos On/Off switches. I use Warthog Throttle so I have the BARO/RDR on the RDR ALTM switch, exterior lights on the pinky switch etc. How can we push the developers to implement this common control switches? -royphsle i7-4790 CPU 3.60GHz | 16 GB RAM | MSI GTX-960 Gaming 4GB | TM Warthog HOTAS | MFG Crosswind Pedals | TrackIR 5

Within the T.A.R.G.E.T program (available with the TMWH), you can "somewhat" easily set this up so the 2 position switches will truly function as you are desiring. I don't have the link off hand, but a quick search within DCS forum or via google can walk you through that relatively easily. Which would allow you to use the left most switches below the throttle to accomplish a more "like for like" binding. As for ED setting up this parameter/code - unsure on how easy or difficult that is or would be to accomplish. You could create a thread within the "wish list" category for more potential opportunity for that to happen, rather than in the bugs section. Cheers, Don It's easy enough to set this up in the .lau files (see for example: https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=215173), and some switches are already set up in the default controllers currently to allow this without any editing (mostly indicated by "Special for Joystick" IIRC). What the OP is looking for is for DCS to make MORE switches with this as default so you don't have to edit .lau to insert this every time there is an update.
