Afghanistan is showing something that high ranked officers didn't expect , it's the utility of attack helicopters in nowadays conflicts . in situations where only manned and fastly deployable weapons can do the job attack helos have no equivalent . attack helos were first made to counter armor divisions then were oriented as scouts , now with Afghanistan new roles are showing up anti-guerilla and escort roles . Apache is a good weapon but it will be outdated one day or another , i'm asking can we dream of seing other indian tribes to join the fight against evil (if i'm not wrong evil means also bad minded acts) :smilewink:

troops transport capability made the difference

I actually think a helo like the mi-24/mi-35 would be perfect in A-stan.

With it, you can keep the escort/guard/eye-in-the-sky of the Apache, but also store extra munition/water/food/medical equipment for the forces on ground. And if shit hit's the fan, it can quickly swoop in and retreat with wounded soldier. But perhaps that's just day-dreaming? :pilotfly:

Haven't the polish forces deployed some? Does they use them in anyway different from other gunships?

Mi-35 maybe not Mi-24 , as far as i know Mi-24 hasn't night ops capability . A-stan is opening new horizons for attack helos

That's because you complicate things unnecessarily:P

Well I used only this part esGSsgLBKI but it was blank so I posted the whole link.

Now I see you added "-" in front maybe that was the missing part.

everything after = to the first & is the video code (or the end if there is no &)

(and why the forum engine makers don't let you just paste the URL in there is beyond me)

To whom it may concern,

I am an idiot, unfortunately for the world, I have a internet connection and a fondness for beer....apologies for that.

Thank you for you patience.

Dang, it's just as old as I am

Seeing the Su-37 reminded me of the Su-35BM. Afaik the canards could be removed on the Su-35BM because the front section was made of lighter materials, therefor not requiring the same lift. Now i wonder how much of it's maneuverability is kept compared to the Su-37.

Today when my dad came home he told me, some Russian company that is developing at civilian aircraft with a European company, found out that around 70 (?) employed engineers wasn't even educated as engineers.

Can't seem to find anything confirm it though.
