FalcoGer Posted October 4, 2019 Posted October 4, 2019 I set up a mission in which P51 are supposed to attack ships. I gave them rockets and bombs. Their tasking was set to Anti-Ship Their waypoint order was to engage surface group Once the mission loaded, they turned around and made a bee-line to the nearest airport I replaced the P51s with SU25TM and gave them Anti-Ship missiles. They fired the missiles. When I replaced the ASMs with bombs, they behaved like the P51s and didn't attack at all.
Grimes Posted October 7, 2019 Posted October 7, 2019 Its a known behavior/bug. Best to change the setting "reaction to threat" to evade fire. Currently AI treat any armed ship at the same threat level, so to the AI a WW2 ship armed with flak is just as bad as a Ticonderoga. The right man in the wrong place makes all the difference in the world. Grimes Posted October 15, 2019 Posted October 15, 2019 Possibly yeah. Anything that isn't "allow abort mission" should do the trick. I haven't tested WW2 aircraft a whole lot to know if they will try to dodge flak or not. The right man in the wrong place makes all the difference in the world.
