AI won't attack ships with bombs

I set up a mission in which P51 are supposed to attack ships. I gave them rockets and bombs.

 

 

Their tasking was set to Anti-Ship

Their waypoint order was to engage surface group

Once the mission loaded, they turned around and made a bee-line to the nearest airport

 

 

I replaced the P51s with SU25TM and gave them Anti-Ship missiles. They fired the missiles. When I replaced the ASMs with bombs, they behaved like the P51s and didn't attack at all.

Its a known behavior/bug. Best to change the setting "reaction to threat" to evade fire. Currently AI treat any armed ship at the same threat level, so to the AI a WW2 ship armed with flak is just as bad as a Ticonderoga.

Possibly yeah. Anything that isn't "allow abort mission" should do the trick. I haven't tested WW2 aircraft a whole lot to know if they will try to dodge flak or not.
