Atomic978 Posted November 14, 2004 Posted November 14, 2004 Hello, I have a problem when A2A Refueling. The basket or boon disapear in single player mode. Has anybody had this problem and know how to fix it. It worked with the game out of the box but since the last 2 patches I have not been able to see them once connected. I can see it on the approach but as soon as I get close it disapears. Just incase you are wondering here is my system. (I know its not the best but it works) WinXP Pro Sp1 P4 1.3ghz 400mhz FSB 1024mb PC800 RDRAM 128mb DDR Geforce FX 5200 AGP(I know not the best) 40GB WD 7200RPM HD Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS Gamer I know i can not run everything maxed out and I have tried everything. As I said it use to be there when refueling but it just don't show up anymore and I do not know why I can not get it back. Thanks In Advance. =RvE=Atomic Alienware Area-51, Intel Core2 Quad CPU Q9400 @ 3.2GHz, 8gig Corsair XMS2 DDR2 Ram, EVGA SC GTX 570, Western Digital 1.0TB 64mb cache HD. Alfa Posted November 30, 2004 Posted November 30, 2004 Hi Atomic, Is the boom or basket completely gone, or only partially missing when moving in close? Could you post a screenshot of the problem? JJ
Atomic978 Posted December 1, 2004 Author Posted December 1, 2004 Here is a screen shot I took during my last refuel as you can see I am hooked up to the basket and refueling. I can see the hose in the hud but the basket is not there(note this is single player and not multiplayer) I have the latest drivers for my video card and I am running the latest version of direct x. Thanks again for any help. I can see them external just not from cockpit view. =RvE=Atomic Alienware Area-51, Intel Core2 Quad CPU Q9400 @ 3.2GHz, 8gig Corsair XMS2 DDR2 Ram, EVGA SC GTX 570, Western Digital 1.0TB 64mb cache HD. Atomic978 Posted December 8, 2004 Author Posted December 8, 2004 I just wanted to give this one more bump to see if anybody knows of anything that could cause this. If not I will let it fall off the board. Thanks again, =RvE=Atomic Alienware Area-51, Intel Core2 Quad CPU Q9400 @ 3.2GHz, 8gig Corsair XMS2 DDR2 Ram, EVGA SC GTX 570, Western Digital 1.0TB 64mb cache HD. Guest ThomasDWeiss Posted December 8, 2004 Posted December 8, 2004 Try changing the resolution to 1024x768 or higher - also, set Lock On at 32bit color.
-BAF-Mav Posted December 9, 2004 Posted December 9, 2004 Try changing the resolution to 1024x768 or higher - also, set Lock On at 32bit color. Yes, you can try this tip. But I play in 1152, and my LO is set at 32bit color, but I have the same problem. I use ATI catalyst V4.11 drivers (Graphic Card: ATI Radeon 9600 Pro 256Mb)
SUBS17 Posted December 9, 2004 Posted December 9, 2004 Did they fix this in v1.1? From what I've heard inflight refuelling has been improved quite a bit in v1.1. BTW the disappearing basket or boom is a common problem. cheers Subs [sIGPIC] [/sIGPIC]
GGTharos Posted December 9, 2004 Posted December 9, 2004 In 1.1 you get to fly the plane through the refuelling, like in Jane's F/A-18. An extra challenge ;D [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Reminder: SAM = Speed Bump :D I used to play flight sims like you, but then I took a slammer to the knee - Yoda
Atomic978 Posted December 15, 2004 Author Posted December 15, 2004 Thanks for all the advise guys. I have tried all of this before and I have still had no luck. I currently run the game in 1024 x 768 and in 32bit color. I have tried other settings and so far nothing seems to help. I guess I will just have to wait until I can build my next pc and see if that takes care of my problem. Thanks again, =RvE=Atomic Alienware Area-51, Intel Core2 Quad CPU Q9400 @ 3.2GHz, 8gig Corsair XMS2 DDR2 Ram, EVGA SC GTX 570, Western Digital 1.0TB 64mb cache HD.
