Ok so been meaning to write this for a while, but recently, inspired by people on here, I completed the first stage of my own 'Generic Pit', it was not an excuse to play with power tools honest :music_whistling:

So my intention is to eventually build an av8b pit but there is really very little out there on the design front, and it will take a Looooong time, so instead I have broken it down into to stages, the first the creation of a generic pit which is now complete.

Based around a Samsung stupid widescreen curved monitor, Warthog Hotas and Purgoet 306 Seat, a lot of work and time and I am really happy with the result.

I have also started working inside DCS-BIOS and have successfully prototyped the fuel panel.

So what next?

Well I have started on the chore of panel modelling in fusion 360, but there is very little data out there.

I have been able to get support from Aiden Fay, http://www.aidanjfay.com/harrier-av8b-simulator.html, who has provided me some drawings he has done as a starter for 6.

I have fully modelled one panel based around the DZUS hole pattern for scale. (Which the ingame model does not follow but based on a photo I have found shows it does https://www.pinterest.co.uk/pin/600386194057412000/visual-search/?cropSource=6&h=685&w=544&x=10&y=10)

So is there anyone else out there who would like to join my efforts? A team working to a common goal would make this quicker.

Nice work! Wondering I did a test print with what looked like a good size on the font. In Fusion 360 when I placed the text I placed most of it at 4mm size but I m not excited about how it comes out when it is printed. So wondering what size font you are using? I am thinking I should of tested the font before I remade my panels. They come out just don't look that big as the drawing on computer. Font size are 4mm and some are 3mm

Ok Panel finished caded.

I am using 6mm for the large, 4mm for the small, which reminds me i need to double check i used the same font for both.

Thanks! I am sorry I missed a question. What type Font are you using? I am using the MS33558 font.

Interesting project. Can you tell us more about the costs associated with it? Keep those pictures fresh, please. It is always amazing to me, how you guys can do it, I can't. :(

Testing back lighting, original plan to use 5mm led was no joy, so now using 3528 smd led, 5 pence each with a 5mm square foot pribt and only 1mm thick, they also have a wider light spread, will be ahiining through 6mm opaque, and maybe 3mm clear for even spread.

More tests to follow.
