Swift. Posted October 21, 2019 Posted October 21, 2019 The Lead steering cue, that appears on the HUD after locking a target, seems to be inaccurate. When you place the dot in the centre of the circle, the missile still has to pull loads of G in order to get the correct lead on the target. Isn't the point of the lead steering cue to align the missile onto the correct intercept trajectory, therefore preventing the need for it to bleed its energy in a sharp initial turn? 476th Discord | 476th Website | Swift Youtube Ryzen 5800x, RTX 4070ti, 64GB, Quest 2
Swift. Posted October 21, 2019 Author Posted October 21, 2019 It doesn't happen with every shot, but here is a track. The first 9X works as expected, the second flies way off to the left despite the cue being centred. 476th Discord | 476th Website | Swift Youtube Ryzen 5800x, RTX 4070ti, 64GB, Quest 2
Harker Posted October 21, 2019 Posted October 21, 2019 I notice that too, sometimes. I've gotten into the habit of manually lofting my AIM-120C shots a little bit in medium range, since I notice that the missile will often pull up a little bit on its own otherwise.
