How do I release flares/chaff?

I've got just about all of my controls/HOTAS system setup properly for the F-16. However, the last piece of the puzzle I'm stuck on is the countermeasure release.

 

I have the following properly mapped:

Countermeasure Management Switch - Left (mapped to "U" in my case)

CHAFF/FLARE Dispense Button (mapped to "R" in my case)

 

I previously just had the CHAFF/FLARE Dispense Button mapped but nothing would dispense upon button press. Then i read that you also have to toggle Countermeasure Management Switch - Left for it to work. That didn't solve it either.

 

I've tried with Master Arm on and Master Arm off, as well as in AA and A/G modes. But no matter what I can't get my countermeasures to launch.

 

Can someone please guide me as to what else I'm missing to get this working?

Just swapped my key mapping from CMS Left to CMS Up. But I think I'm missing the "Countermeasure Mode switch to MAN". Do you know what that is specifically called in the DCS controls interface? Alternatively, where abouts in the cockpit is that switch so I can toggle it manually?

Its in lower left front panel, under the gear leaver:

 

MODE Knob. This selects the CMS operating mode.

• MAN – The selected manual program may be dispensed by positioning the CMS forward on the stick.

SEMI – The aircraft systems determine the program to be dispensed based on the threat. Consent to

dispense must be given by positioning the CMS aft on the stick.

• AUTO – The aircraft systems determine the program to be dispensed based on the threat.

Countermeasures are dispensed automatically. This mode must also be enabled by positioning the

CMS aft on the stick. It may be disabled by selecting CMS right.

• BYPASS – This is selected to allow manual dispensing of countermeasures when failures prevent the

other modes from working.

 

 

HOTAS CMS buttons:

On the stick, there is a four-place switch for countermeasures.

Center. This is the OFF position and no dispense action is taken.

Forward. This dispenses the manual program selected on the CMDS Panel with the PRGM knob.

Aft. This gives consent to dispense the requested program when the MODE knob is in SEMI. This also enables

the AUTO mode when the MODE knob is in AUTO.

Left. No function.

Right. This disables the AUTO dispense mode.

The CHAFF/FLARE Dispense Button is for the "slap" switch on the left wall - it should dispense 1 chaff when pressed unless you changed the CMDS profiles in the lua file.

 

 

 

It currently has a bug that releases 1 on press and 1 on release.
