=475FG= Dawger Posted November 16, 2019 Posted November 16, 2019 I have a mission I have been building for my MP server that "freezes" between 2 to 4 hours into the mission. The server remains in the list and I can join it but the AI aircraft in flight are all frozen in position. Any suggestions as to the cause and possible remedies are appreciated.
ED Team BIGNEWY Posted November 16, 2019 ED Team Posted November 16, 2019 please attach your dcs.log from the server after the freeze so we can look at clues. Also please attach the mission so we can check that also thank you Forum rules - DCS Crashing? Also please attach the mission so we can check that also thank you The log just stops when the mission freezes. I am stripping out pieces of the mission and running it to try to narrow down the cause. I suspect I just have too many moving groups. I will have more information in the next 24 hours. If i can't narrow it down, I will post the mission and log. If I do narrow it down, I will report back on the suspected cause. I was hoping this was a common issue that someone could easily point to a solution. Just for information, I did run it on a different machine to eliminate hardware as the cause.
=475FG= Dawger Posted November 17, 2019 Author Posted November 17, 2019 The issue seems to be a group of 12 Paladin artillery units firing on a point for an extended period of time. I had it set to fire continuously from mission start. With firing at a point turned off, the freeze does not occur. I am experimenting with shorter firing periods.

Is this happening to you on the Open Beta Server? We have two serves and the same thing happens to all clients for a few minutes then unfreezes. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

Now I am only using relatively short artillery firing periods of 30 minutes and the server does not lock up. I do see some multi second pauses and my wingman and I experienced a simultaneous DCS crash flying in my server but the server kept running.
Ziptie Posted November 27, 2019 Posted November 27, 2019 MP servers are having issues all over the place, seems after the latest patch/update. Flew in 4 servers, 2 different hosts, 2 different servers within - all getting server ping timed out errors. No crash log, but host has rebooted server / shut things down and restarted. Aircraft and other objects "freeze in space" and then crashes seem to happen.... Please assist ED !
