some1
Usually altimeters are not precise enough to give the altitude down to one feet, or maybe it's just done to prevent the numbers from constantly shifting, but the readout on the HUD and MFDs is rounded to the nearest ten. At least that's how it works in the F-16, F-18, Mirage and other aircraft I know. amalahama
Not rounded to ten in JF-17 IRL. True, but it's not that exact either, and it has some lag. See the ADI page in this video Regards
Manuel_108
The ADI does lag considerably in the video indeed.
Schmidtfire
It’s a simulator. We don’t know platfom used. What kind of setup/hardware running. What overall FPS the sim is running at, screen refresh rates etc. Not saying there might be lag IRL, but hard to judge without IRL in-flight cockpit video showing instruments. Manuel_108
That is true. The background scenery when she flys a barrel roll looks very fluid though. It’s just the HSD, ADI and engine gauges not updating completely fluently but rather a little jagged in the video. I think the software they use is probably quite accurate to the real aircraft as it is displayed at an airshow. I also don‘t think the data on the real aircraft (headings, compass rose etc.) is shown perfectly fluid like in DCS, at least that was never the case in real aircrafts I sat in. Obviously my thinking and my observations are very biased in this regard. Still, in this case I would give the simulator video the benefit of the doubt. .
