BlackPixxel Posted December 7, 2019 Posted December 7, 2019 A few months ago the navigation light on the tail of the Su-33 went almost invisible. The flare-effect is much much smaller than on the other aircraft. Before that patch the light was similar to the Su-27 etc. It is so dimm that it is very hard to tell whether the light is on or off, especially from the cockpit. In this picture the light is on, but it looks like it is off. Su-27 for comparison, just look at how visible the light on the vertical stabilizer is: It would be really nice if this could be fixed!
draconus Posted December 8, 2019 Posted December 8, 2019 It's not meant to be visible for the pilot esp. during daytime. 27 is bad example - its nav lights do not cast light on surface - check at night on the runway - and generally the glow look unrealistic. BlackPixxel Posted December 9, 2019 Author Posted December 9, 2019 Any other FC3 plane has them visible like the 27. Cannot tell what FF modules do, as there is no FF Flanker :D
draconus Posted December 9, 2019 Posted December 9, 2019 From the tests I had: On 33 nav lights look good, actually cast light around and shine on the aircraft surfaces. Having the DCS 2.5 night lighting issues in mind I'd say it looks very good. On 27 they look bad and unrealistic (like a ball), don't cast any light, don't shine on the aircraft, while their visibility from distance is the same as in 33.
