As I am waiting for my order to update my Gunfighter II MCG Pro setup I have been looking to find the latest software and firmware and what method to use to bring my Gunfighter up-to-date. I also have my "gate-control" stick set to be a 4 way button and the brake lever set as a button.

As far as I can determine the latest Firmware is V1.98.1. Vkbdevcfg is V0.90.93 and Zbootloader is V1.18 I think the latest BB_GF_v1_92_1 is the most up-to-date?

I am currently using older software with my current setup as it is working great for me however I know I must update my software as I will have updated Electronics.

Could some-one explain how the new procedure to update my joystick works? I also can't find the steps to to change my gate control Stick to the 4 buttons. I saw an explanation about the brake-lever recently now being easy due to software changes.

Thanks in advance for assistance.

I see you already know where to find most recent software/firmware. http://alex-oz.strana.de/index.htm

Here is a quick video showing the update process :

About the hat, I made a post about that a while ago, it should help, if not ask again.

Thank-you for your response. It would appear that the process remains essentially the same. Your posting for the Hat stick is not what I am looking for. It is for changing the analog stick into a 4 way button (plus push, for 5th way) that I am looking for.

That is actually what I did. I did set both my ministick to "LoRres 4w" hat. Then you also have to map the ministick push. Sorry I can't take more recent screenshot, my VKB stick is boxed, I'm selling it to buy the same thing but version MKIII.

gate control Stick to the 4 buttons.

IIRC you have to go into Profile->POVs and here you set your ministick to LoRes 4w, then you choose Button V as output and select the line number you want the 4 virtual button. In my case 33..34...35..36. If you want ministick to always work in 4way hat mode then also choose Active=Always. Just like on my screenshot. You could also if desired turn off/hide the analog axes by un-checking the corresponding boxes. See my 2nd screenshot I did hide the gate ministick axes but left the master hat axes active, or vice versa I don't remember which is which. (En and Vs tick box in Profile->Axes).

thanks again for your response. I originally found a posting in this thread 18 months ago? but now I can't seem to find it. I believe dburne was involved but he was quoting somebody else, just can't find it now.

It has been a while for sure and my memory is not so great these days.

Have a look through this thread over on VKB forums and see if it might help:

Sorry I did not have time to review them, those two I had bookmarked so hoping something helpful might be in them.

dburne: that's my concern too. Got my gunfighter working great no x axis issues for a few months and using the brake lever as a button, along with a four way button on the gate control stick. The only thing I had to do was open the app and restart a few times. I have been leery about updating my software cause if it aint broke dont touch it has mostly been my attitude especially with VKB as I struggle with the app because it is not very user friendly in my experience. I'm going to ask rrhode over at VKB north america for assisstance.
