VC Posted August 9, 2020 Posted August 9, 2020 (edited) Is the information in this thread still current or have there been any improvements to this feature? After learning the Viper I am finding the Hornet very frustrating to use in BVR. I agree with the above that Viper TWS is very slow to build tracks... which is why I always use RWS+SAM and that works fantastically. In the F-18 I decided to use RWS+LTWS instead and that works better for me than full TWS, but there's no scan centering on L&S in LTWS. For using TWS I've now bound PB13 so I can switch from MAN to AUTO and back (and in case I misclick and enter BIAS). Does that still not center in elevation? Does it center in elevation if I go via STT and PB10 as described earlier in the thread? Edited August 9, 2020 by VC VC =X51= Squadron is recruiting! I say somehow cause agressive maneuvers sometimes makes you loose lock (quite real on the other hand). From my experience the TWS in the hornet works flawlessly, especially in manual mode which let you make some naughty things, like for example guide 2 amraams at 2 targets totally separated dozens of miles, just by moving the tdc left and right from time to time (6-8 seconds depending on the radar memory setting). falcon_120 Posted August 9, 2020 Posted August 9, 2020 When you say "solved" you mean TWS Auto now tracks accurately in both azimuth and elevation?Yes, this is what i meant. Hope is not my memory playing me tricks, since as i say i almost always use manual mode for the increased SA. Enviado desde mi ELE-L29 mediante Tapatalk

I still find the behaviour very odd, in every other plane the default mode is auto scan zone as soon as you assign a target. I may only be one button to press but on the real plane this button isn't even on the HOTAS (we can cheat a bit there). VC =X51= Squadron is recruiting! Fusedspine33 Posted March 25, 2022 Posted March 25, 2022 Was this ever decided upon by ED? TWS auto is the default mode IRL and manual is selectable by the pilot. Is this a difficult fix to make? Has someone found a way to mod it in the interim? Thanks
