Mounting 4 weapons (JSOW), 2 each on 2 stations, in PP mode the STEP function appears to behave oddly (I do not have the knowledge to know if it is correct or not). Quantity of 4 is not available, perhaps this is normal. Select quantity 2. Assign a different preplanned target for each of the 4 weapons using PP1 and PP2. The with with PP1 selected STEP toggles between the 2 assigned PP1 weapons. Then with mission PP2 selected STEP toggles between PP1 and PP2, instead of the expected toggling between the 2 PP2 weapons. Track attached.

QTY selection only selects stations, not individual weapons. PP target assignment is, at the moment, only per station as well (coordinates are assigned to the station, and downloaded to the weapon at the time of release). Wags has mentioned that eventually we'll have the ability to designate PP coordinates to Left and Right on a dual rack, but at the moment you'll have to switch PP targets manually.

So, in your scenario, you'll want to:

- QTY select the 2 stations

- Set both stations to PP1

- Pickle 2

- Set both stations to PP2

- Pickle again

It's not that stepping to another station is changing the PP target, you're switching to a station that hasn't had it's PP target switched, it's still on the original target. Changing a PP target only changes the PP target for the currently selected (visible) station.

Let me try to visualize it (selected PP target is in brackets). First let's assume we have 4 JDAMs loaded on dual racks on stations 3 and 7:

Station 3
[PP1] | PP2
JDAM#1 | JDAM#3

Station 7
[PP1] | PP2
JDAM#2 | JDAM#4

Both stations are on their own, unique PP1. We launch JDAMs #1 and #2 on their PP targets, so now we're ready for the second set, so when we change the first station to PP2, it'll look like this:

Station 3
PP1 | [PP2]
---- | JDAM#3

Station 7
[PP1] | PP2
---- | JDAM#4

So station 3 is now on PP2 (since we just changed it) but station 7 will still be on PP1. Stepping to station 7 just displays to you that it's still on PP1. If you change it to PP2 and step back to the first station, they should now both be on PP2.

OK, thanks to your illustration I now understand the (il)logical programming of the PP and STEP functions. IMO logic would dictate that selecting PP2 would affect both stations, but that is apparently not the case.
