Im running a Ryzen7 3800X and a RTX2080TI both on water and overclocked.

the game runs like total ass in VR on my Rift S, turning down the settings to where the game looks like its from 1999 and the cockpit labels are completely illegible makes only a VERY SLIGHT improvement in performance.

according to performance monitor I sit at right around 30-35% usage on the CPU and the GPU...

So it seems the game i'snt trying to even make use of the hardware and running like garbage as a result.

Ive tried a myriad of different settings both in game and using Oculus try tool based on what Ive read here. nothing seems to really make a meaningful change.

Thats what so odd about this, typically when the performance is in the dirt you can tinker with settings and find out what is causing the biggest hit.. in the case.. it just generally sucks regardless, there is no smoking gun, aside from game apparently not making full use of the hardware for some reason..

HELP!

Found it, and I looked at the latest update from him

" I stopped using VR cause the performance is atrocious, even at lower settings and i dont have time to do all the crazy tweaking everyone is doing now a-days just to get VR to work. So till there are some solid VR performance improvements that actually make a difference, I will be playing on my monitor."

Unfortunately most of us are on Intel and that's probably where the issue lies. Not that the 3800 is bad but probably some setting needs to be set that allows DCS full usage. I would post on reddit.hoggit or here with the Ryzen as the subject. I feel for you bro. Hope you get it worked out.

I don't really know the team red platform to tune, a couple of questions and pointers, when you say poor performance... What do you mean? I have seen a lot of people on Rift-s complaining about being locked at 40 fps, so turning off asw may buy you some benefit.

Do read the vr4dcs.com site, it has some excellent step by step guidance. (Though ignore the links on tuning windows, those are just nonsense)

Dcs, is very picky about cpu usage, and some people notice so e significant differences either, by turning off hyper threading or setting processor affinity. And with your gfx card I'm pretty sure it's not the gfx card per say. Normally I would not recommend either but it might be worthwhile testing to see.

Good luck!
