OAP purpose for IAMS and position update

What is the practical purpose of using OAP with IAMS like the ls 6? Particularly in pre planned mode.

 

Also, is there a designate method available for PU like there is for mark mode? Is it not available because AGR isn't implemented?

OAP is for target that may not be able to aim directly(eg. on the back side of the hill ). Just aiming for a reference point and count the offset, so the real target can be hit.

 

Since in the game U can get accurate GPS coordinates and everyone can load a TGP, OAP may not be that useful.

It's also a quick way to designate a secondary target in the same vicinity if, for whatever reason, you don't want to attack the primary.
